An Individual was scammed Lost $750.00 I was contacted in March to schedule a move for June 26. They gave me an estimate and I paid a deposit. They told me they would contact me the week of the move to tell me the exact date and time they would be coming. They called me 6/25 to tell me that they had to up charge me because they had no truck available. Being that it was the day before moving, my hands were tied, so I agreed. The next day they changed the time of the pick up to 6/27 in the morning. I was available and ready all day 6/27 and they called to change the time again, saying they’d arrive in the afternoon. I was picking up money from the ATM to pay them when they showed up at my house 3 hours before the time window they had given me. My landlord was present and told them that I wasn’t there, so they left and never came back. They never called me and I was just down the street. I called them as soon as I got home (10 min later) and pleaded for them to come back, but they refused and didn’t return my call for 12 hours (called me at 11pm Sunday night) but said were far away now and I’d have to pay more for them to return. The company just said sorry and refused to give me my deposit back. I ended up having to leave all of my stuff in that house for my landlord to deal with because I had to move no later than that weekend.
Worst service ever. overcharge me and have so many broken items.
They carefully packed into the truck and they were able to take more than I expected. They managed to get some very bulky furniture pieces from 3rd floor at load address to 3rd floor at new location without any issue. They even had time to move additional boxes and loose items so I didn’t have to and some large exercise equipment. General moving & storage is highly recommended and we’ll be looking them up again for our next move!
I have never experienced worse customer service in my life. I would rather have bought all new things than ever deal with this company again. I do not understand how any of the below reviews are positive. The customer service representatives are rude and refuse to allow me to speak to a supervisor. I’m appalled at the lack of professionalism displayed by this company. Avoid using them at all cost and do not believe anything a representative tells you, because if you are able to get another on the phone they will tell you something different.
I received many calls for moving and was relieved when someone called from General moving & storage. I saw their reviews and was happy with their services. The agent who called was thorough, friendly and professional. No wacky sales pressure or tactics like some of the other people who called. When moving day came, the guys who showed up were friendly, hard working and very professional. They explained everything to me clearly and had patience with me through the process. I highly recommend General moving & storage. I won’t use anyone else ever again!
