Horrible company they are all about you until they get your deposit! They are merely a broker who makes a profit from you, and then some other company shows up to do your move. The girl Sierra is ignorant and rude, I asked for a manager after the pick up, because I was over charged for room on the truck I did not use. I could not get any returned calls, her answer was she was the manager. the worst customer service. That you have no idea about, it took over a month to get my items , and all I got was voicemails I heard from the truck driver the day before and all her said was I’m just the driver?!?! He knew nothing ! So they push it off and ignore you, Friendly until money then bye bye! once they pick up your items you will never hear from them again ! Stay away save yourself the headache!
My overall experience with General moving & storage was good. They were fully transparent all along. Affordable services at a really good price that didn't change in the end. My move was smooth and efficient without any additional cost. I was a bit skeptical about hiring movers because I read a lot of awful testimonials from unhappy customers. Luckily, my friend was using General moving & storage and his recommendation was very helpful. I couldn't imagine my next move without them. Thanks to them everything was perfect and I had my items safely delivered to my new home.
Steer clear!!! Once you give your deposit you are dropped like a hot potato. All you can do to communicate is leave messages on voice mail and you can go up to a week without a returned call. You will end up with a third-party carrier that has no concern for your needs or household goods. Watch out for up-charges from the middleman, Insta Move, who expects cash on delivery. Our move of 231 miles from NC to SC went via Birmingham AL. Nearly every major piece of furniture had damage and the new home has been scarred by dents, scuffs, smears, and scratches left by the movers. Extremely disappointing, unprofessional, and deceptive in their business practices.
I really hate moving. I heard about General moving & storage and they were reliable! The staff packed my things extremely fast, nice and neat. They were very friendly and trustworthy. None of my fragile items got broken! The whole process didn't take long; they wrapped it at a quick pace. I forgot I was moving. I won't be moving anytime soon, but I'll recommend them if you want quick services!
