Value Added Moving

This is the absolute worst company ever. !. Know they don't tell you your deposit of $800 is unrefundable even if you change in a short time. In my opinion the administration is set up to be dishonest. 2. Check their box sizes. In comparison to my last move they halved the size of the box. 3. The amount that was moved could have been moved in a small van or passenger van. I took a picture of the few items. I wanted to cancel but I would have lost my money. I had moved all my big items plus the boxes I wanted them to move and paid $1000 less than that. In other words I was not moving furniture, nor big appliances of any kind, just boxes with personal items... sorry my advice only call them if you have no choice and mostly if you have money to waste. This was NOT A VALUE ADDED EXPERIENCE AT ALL. I am a 5 ft 7in 180lb woman and with a van I could have moved that small amount myself. I just had no idea they would take so very little. My God....they will certainly receive bad karma for this predatory behavior. Essentially this company is a poor choice and NON-TRANSPARENT AND SET UP TO TRAP PEOPLE! The cost could have been more, but I believe this is the approximate cost. Stay away from this horrible company.

Avoid this company at all cost. I made the mistake of hiring them for my move and cancelled my contract within the 72 hour window. Their salesman gave me wrong information about cancellation of a previous company is the only reason I hired them. They refused to refund my deposit saying in their notes I was suppose to call back another time. They can write anything in Their Notes doesn’t mean it’s the truth. Avoid avoid avoid at all cost. I lost a $1000 deposit because of this scam

These are SCAMMERS. They low-balled my mother with a 3500.00 estimate, then changed it to $14,000.00 on moving day. It says you forfeit your deposit if they show up on moving day. I have a feeling they pull this bait and switch tactic a lot, especially with Senior Citizens!

I wanted to write this review because I seem to have had the same experience as other 1 star reviewers. Short version, DO NOT use this company, they are just a brokerage that says a bunch of nice pleasant sounding things and then gives the job to some random moving company that does not follow through on the promises. You pay extra and don't even know who is moving your stuff. They don't care about you once the deposit is in. I was quoted ~$3,500 and the end total was ~$7,500. For anyone who wants the long version... I called around and Value Added gave me the best price. They won me over with promises like, "PROFESSIONAL MOVERS that are not day laborers so they know what they are going." We did a walkthrough of my home over the phone (DO NOT DO THIS) and I answered every question properly about what I was needing to move. Turns out, just like others have mentioned, the person from Value Added's estimation was HALF the size of what we needed. So, once the movers showed up (2 days late) they literally doubled the price. I ran a rough estimation of cost and space, and apparently I was "hiding" 12 COUCHES worth of items that they did not account for. Insane how off it was. Countless things increased in price once the actual movers got into the picture. And these were definitely NOT PROFESSIONAL MOVERS. Upon arrival, plenty of fragile items not wrapped or literally just dumped into boxes. PS4 no wrapping, cords still plugged in, on bottom of box with a rusty metal item. The main man who arrived didn't even know some of the people who were unloading the truck. He was asking people walking around my neighborhood if they were the people supposed to help him. I called Value Added to try and understand how this all happened. The person was pleasant to talk with but was by no means sympathetic to anything. You are better off just selecting the movers directly. Instead of being passed to three different people/companies with terrible communication all around.

Failed to coordinate truck, failed to communicate, and never showed up. After many frustrating phone calls, the CSA told me I was on drugs, my wife "rapes my ass" and several more homophobic and unacceptable comments. I have video proof and have two co-workers present when the customer service person laughed about his rape joke and fully acknowledged it. I will provide the sound bite, and call logs to anyone interested. Avoid at all costs. Never honored their agreement and made heinous and reckless homophobic references to rape, etc.
