A Humble Move

I was offered a job to relocate from Little Rock AR to Denver Co. College Hunks cancelled on me before the move and they referred me to another company, Elite Movers. They couldn’t do the move so I was referred to Donny Barksdale. Met the guy and paid him $3600 up front, 1/2 of the $3600 he quoted. My father In Law took his license plate # because he didn’t trust him. I have the text. They showed up 3 hrs late to start the move. He then asked for an extra $1000 to pay Tommy at College Hunks for a 10% referral fee. They were supposed to pull my gladiator behind the truck but he told me it wouldn’t fit so they’d drive it, which I didn’t like at all, but they’d already showed up late and we were prepared to go. They took 8 hrs loading instead of the 4 he states because only 2 movers showed up. All they kept saying was ‘we’ll get everything don’t worry about it.’ My realtor, who’s worked for Crieke Lyke for 35 yrs, text me pics of everything because she couldn’t believe how much they left. She also stated he was aggressive, rude and pissed off at her and the cleaning lady. He took my truck to his house in Benton and drove it back 2 hrs later and left my house at 9 that night with 1 moving truck and $1,000s of worth of items left at my home. He told me he’d check in along the way and tell me where he stayed and that jazz. He never let me know where they stayed. He lied about where they were staying and where they’d be. His timetables were off from the moment he showed up at my house. I was scared to death the entire time. I had not idea whether I was getting my stuff or not. Made me sick. I didn’t even wanna talk to the guy because I knew every word out of his mouth was a lie at that point. They finally showed up hours late to my house. The first few items they pulled were damaged and the guy threw a fit because I was paying in check. I payed him 1/2 up front with a check so I didn’t know. He got super aggressive with me in front of my family. They were supposed to go swim at the rec center during the move. After his outburst and the damages on the first few items they removed, She stayed in case she had to call the police. Took 2 hrs riding around finding someone who’d cash it, including speaking to the manager at chase bank. He threw another fit when we got back because I couldn’t come up with cash, since I bank at regions and there isn’t one in Denver. He told me he had an app that would run the payment through so he could get his payments which showed up as elite movers on my bank statement. A painter showed up and they told him they’d pay him $25 an hour to help unload the truck. They unloaded the truck and left to return the moving truck and said they’d be back to mount TVs and put together the beds and coffee table. They left for over 3 hrs to turn in the Penske truck and get a rental car. He put my daughters bed together, said they’d be back to finish the next morning at 730 and They never came back, didn’t pay the Painter, and he didn’t respond to calls or texts. I had to contact my bed and coffee table manufacturers to ship hard ware for my items. The coffee table is no longer manufactured and I cannot get parts. They left me and my pregnant wife moving boxes everywhere because the dumped everything in the garage and didn’t finish. My landlord had 2 ppl come over to help. I paid them $200. I paid the painter $100 and I have more than enough witness to confirm what happened.
