I have had at least 15 moves in my lifetime and this one was by far the WORST move ever. It is hard to begin to explain this as the estimate to move my household was $11,000 which I thought was a pretty good value for packing and moving my household from Maryland to Texas. The crew that showed up led by Alex was disorganized and didn't label boxes well or even number the boxes until they were being put on the truck. Boxes have been scanned in by other agencies for almost twenty years. This was supposed to be a one-day move, but at the end of the first day, Alex came to me and said that it was going to take significantly longer and that the cost would be significantly more. I saw after we unpacked why it was both of those as there were many boxes that were only a quarter full and they were charging me based on volume, not on weight. This was a HUGE SCAM!! I hope United Regions doesn't do business like this normally, but it is what happened in this case. We have yet to find many boxes (and items), and we haven't submitted our final report yet of what was lost and what was broken because both are too large to list here and we will include pictures there as well. The crew at the receiving end was much better, but the damage had already been done and they didn't have any additional boxes for us on their truck. There was a minimum of 12-15 boxes lost, which we will provide an inventory to you, but it was also hard to tell since lots of the box numbers were nowhere to be found. The pickup crew should be completely retrained and the United Regions way of accounting for boxes needs to be modified and brought into the 21st Century. Please contact me if you have any questions as I can't say enough BAD things about the pickup crew and the move in general. Many of my friends in the Northeast have used and recommended United Regions Van Lines for their moving needs, and I can see why. Do not hire these people! They were 2 days late for packing, then tried to up the charges before packing, lied about where my household goods were stored, never called to deliver - I had to hound them to get delivery, only to find out they lost some of my furniture. And when I unpacked, found they had purposely mixed items from different rooms, broken antiques, damaged furniture, broken dishes, and they even packed their garbage in my boxes!
Dear Bobbie, We must clarify that the details you mentioned do not match our records. Our records indicate that the pick-up window was March 11th-12th, and the pick-up occurred on the 12th. As for the full packing service, there were no additional charges, as everything was included. The delivery happened within our contractual window, and the customer was advised every step of the way. Furthermore, we have not received any claim forms for lost or damaged items. It appears that this review does not accurately reflect the service we provided. Best regards, Darya N.
I've given up searching for a better moving company than United Regions Van Lines. Despite providing superior service, they've maintained reasonable prices even amidst inflation. Their consistent quality and value make it difficult to understand any negative reviews.
