UNITED PRIME VAN LINES CORP

Absolutely the worst moving company in the world. Showed up six hours late in a rented U Haul truck with an appliance dolly and an untrained helper. We already had been accomodating by allowing them to come two days before our scheduled time. The main guy was agrumentative and defiant. At one point I throught we were going to get into it, but he backed down. This should have been a simple and quick move as we had everything boxed and packed as well as having beds dismantled. Nope! Due to the ineptness of this individual, it took hours and if I had not insisted on helping, we would have been at it until midnight. This company was booked via a broker company called AB Moving out of New Jersey. They were no help what so ever, so NEVER use a broker. They were to take our furniture to a storage facility until we were ready for it. We were quoted a storage fee of $175.00 per month and found out when the free month was expiring, the new charge was going to be $675.00 per month. Therefore, I arranged for storage closer to the final destination. I arranged for a date to meet them at the storage unit. I lived ten hours from there so it was imperative for the date and time to be accurate. Nope, they did not make the appointed time. We stayed in a hotel for four days thinking we could make arrangements to meet them again. They took our furniture to New Jersey and waited for other job that would take them back to the area of the storage unit. Ten days after the appointed date we had agreed on and a great deal of expense, we met them at the storage facility. As it was being moved into the storage facility, I noticed several things were damaged. I took pictures as proof of the damage as best as I could. United Prime VanLines said we had insurance and to file a claim. We could not see the extent of the damage until we had a reputable moving company move the furniture to its final destination. Deep scratches, divots in the wood, broken off legs on several pieces of furniture. I need to mention, this is expensive furniture and not junk. When we filed the insurance claim with their insurance company, they offered $60.00. We declined and they wanted us to negotiate with them. We also went back to the broker and complained about the damage. They were no help at all as they just sent us back the movers and washed their hands of the whole deal. When we talked with United Prime VanLines and told them we would not accept the $60.00 as restitution for damages. One item alone cost $2500 and had the legs ripped off. They waited until the time limit on the claim expired and we have never heard from them again. One of the worst experiences of my life and I have no recourse other than writing a bad review. So never use a jobber or broker to book a mover and run as fast as you can away from United Prime Van Lines. This will also be posted on facebook.

I was charged approximately $9800 for this move based on how many cubic square feet I used. At some point they transferred my property to another truck that did not have enough space for all of my property. The delivery driver advised he had to hitch my bed to the back of his truck. Due to weather conditions, my $2000 bed was broken in several places and also water damaged. I took pictures of the inside of the trailer before they started unloading and it was clear other items were damaged due to improper loading (boxes and other furniture were being smashed down by heavy items sitting on top.) I have approximately $3500 worth of damaged belongings (king bed; 65 in curved tv; 6ft long buffet cabinet; over-sized chair). The moving company wants to limit me to $.60 per pound as recovery when my items should've never been hitched to the outside of their truck; especially considering I was forced to pay more at pickup for the space I needed. I have a video of the driver admitting to leaving my belongings outside in addition to pictures.

Highly recommend this moving company!!! The movers were extremely kind, thorough and efficient with their moving process. You can tell how professional they are with their wrapping and care of gentle objects. They were time conscious and my whole moving process was done within two hours.

We really liked the service. They were on time and they packed everything up very well. He was really good and they came and unpacked and assembled our furniture the next day. I would highly recommend them. He was really nice and it was so easy to schedule an appointment with them.

The moving team showed up as scheduled and immediately went to work. Everything was handled with great care to prevent damage. The team was friendly and personable and worked with speed and efficiency. This was our second move with United Prime Van Lines and highly recommend them.
