Lookup the company on FMCSA and ask for a certificate of insurance before doing business with any moving companies. Don't get in the same situation as the rest of these reviews. Carefree delivered my items 1 month and 16 days late, I literally had to help the man who arrived to deliver my stuff (yes, they sent ONE GUY). Customer service gave me a complete run around when I asked for an ETA on delivery. I was promised free storage- nope, $900/ mo. It's very unclear who is to blame for this, but I was extorted for another $1700-1800 when the movers actually showed up to pick up my items. The broker did significantly under account for the volume of what I told them. Then Carefree had me sign all new paperwork and agree to pay that much extra to start the job. This company caused so much turmoil in my life for well over 2 months. Please save yourself the heartache and just use Pods/ reputable van lines.

DO NOT USE. They will sell you on a low rate but I am paying double what was quoted. The movers were EXTREMELY unprofessional, almost getting into a fist fight and openly rolling joints and smoking pot while loading. It took them 8 hours to load when it should have taken 4 tops. If you call to complain they will tell you to just send them an email. You will be told you should get your stuff within a week throughout the whole process but DON'T BELIEVE THEM. It's now been 9 days and the movers they use just confirmed that my stuff is sitting in a warehouse in the city it was picked up in, they still don't have a driver, and the earliest we will get our stuff is another 2 weeks. We went this route because we couldn't believe the price and thought that since it was comparable to doing it ourselves this would be a better, easier option. WRONG. You get what you pay for. Do not trust the positive reviews. They have to be written by them. If I could give 0 stars I would.

This company tried to make me pay double the agreed upon contact. They said the contract that I signed with the broker isn't valid even though I paid a deposit. They literally took 7 hours of arguing just to load up a 1 bedroom apartment. In that time they damaged multiple things in my apartment. About 30 minutes into them finally starting after being at my apartment for 4 hours they stopped and said we have to charge a long walk fee saying it is over 100 feet from the door to the truck. They did not measure and we're trying to get over on me. Just for that fee they tried to charge me $525 extra dollars on top of the $1200 they were trying to overcharge me for in the first place. After damaging everything, scratching up my walls, and not even picking up all of the items the two guys left abruptly. I know they damaged my things, and to make things worse they left abruptly without even checking in to see if the job is done. They left their packing tape, the doors open and dropped some of my personal items in the hall way. I never gave them an address to go to but just an area code and what they are going to do is call me and hold my things ransom until they make me pay an amount that isn't even on the contract that I signed. DO NOT use this company.

Carefree Movers are so rude and will not get back with you unless you hound them. I talked to a man named JOHN, who yelled at me and my mother. On the day of moving from Nashville to Los Angeles, we were quoted $5,500 after being told it would cost $2,900. All the driver took was a video to give us the price assessment. We fought back on the price and I’m doing so, we found out that my stuff had been left at some warehouse in Georgia. They NEVER let us know. I found out because I texted the guy who I thought was the driver. It would not surprise me if they lost some of my stuff, if we now have bed bugs, or if my things are damaged. But I’m 100% ready to sue this company and make sure they never put anyone else in this position again. Be warned: This company WILL take advantage of you, they will never get back with you, they will leave your stuff in the middle of nowhere without you knowing. Use a different company.

The next day, all furniture disassembly was completed and loaded precisely onto two trucks. The quality of work was top-notch!!!
