Run as far as you can from this company. They are a broker, but do not tell you that. The initial phone calls will be very pleasant and helpful. I spoke to Brett Blair. I was moving from TX to PA. I informed Brett that I was mostly moving boxes and plastic totes. The only piece of furniture coming with me was my simple queen size bed. Brett asked what my best quote was a beat the quotes from other respectable companies. I should have known then to run away. It was too easy and too good to be true. Brett went on to inform me that I, "had extra room to bring even more furniture if you want." Well that turned out to be a lie. They will say ANYTHING to get you to sign with them. You'll pay your down payment and feel great about the quote. Then it spirals down fast. It's been just about a month since my belongings were picked up. Even that was painful. I had to leave for a job interview so a good friend of mine was at my apartment for the pick-up. The men had no uniforms and were in a Penske rental truck. I was informed i had to pay them. But then spoke to First United and was told I would pay in full on delivery. They loaded my belongings very roughly and with no organization. I'm scared there will be a lot of damage to everything I own. From the pick-up day, every few days I’d get a call from the "Driver" asking me for money. The driver who did not speak very good English would yell and curse at me. Every few days. But when I would call First United, they'd tell me that they have no control over their subcontractors. Also, the staff at First United has been amazingly rude. Every phone call. That’s if you can get in contact with them at all. They started to hang up on me. Fast forward to today. I was told last week my delivery would be made between 1 and 3 January. When that didn't happen I would call and was then told that it would be either the 4th or 5th of January. I just heard from the driver that my delivery would be tonight, between 5 pm and 8 pm. But here's the worst part. My original quote doesn't matter, apparently my deposit I paid doesn't matter either. I have to pay just shy of double my original quote. And what they do is wait until they have your belongings so you HAVE to pay them. The movers actually showed up last night. They were an hour late. No professionalism, not company truck or uniform. They were in a Penske rental truck. One of the two guys, the guy in charge, was too busy smoking to really do the job. The most infuriating part is that when we went to do the paperwork, he didn’t realize that I had a picture of the original contract from TX. They obviously wrote other numbers on top of the original price to try to get even more money from me. I called him out on it and after a long phone call with his boss, I didn’t have to pay all of the additional amount. But I still paid entirely too much over my original quote. With that, there was plenty of damage. It was obvious that they take no care in how they pack people's belongings. This has been a nightmare. Please do good research and stay away from this company. They are con artists. Nothing but a scam. I’d recommend using only well-known and established moving companies. U-Haul, PODs and the like. That’s what I wish I would have done.

I just wanted people to know how bad the service and experience was with this company. We were given a timeframe 2pm-6pm for the mover to show up by dispatch. I informed them that we were moving from a condominium building and that the window if us for the elevator was from 9a-5p. They assured me that the information would get to the driver. They had to change the original date to the 2nd choice date which was fine except that the times stayed the same. I again informed them of the restrictions on the elevator. I was told they would call 45-1 hour before. Called at 2:30pm to say they would be there 4-4:15. Arrival was at 5pm We wound up taking all the boxes down from apartment to loading area as well as placing almost all the furniture right by the elevator. We effectively did 90% of the work we paid them to do! We were also told by the broker First United Moving when we did the inventory and Scott added more boxes, that if we did not use the cubic feet we were allotted that the cost would be adjusted. At the time of the inventory call the cost went up $500.00 When the stuff was loaded on the truck, I was told it was a binding estimate, which no one at First United explained... that meant no deduction for less space and no adjustment to price. We tried to speak to First United who offered to get another truck. Well at that point all is loaded in the truck! I was then told by Energy Moving that we were stuck with the extra cost and they would not do anything for us. So bottom line. We did most of the work and got taken for more than the original estimate. Even better, when the delivery happened there were 3 mid century tables basically destroyed. Driver was like”I did not pack the stuff” Really No Customer Service! Lousy attitude and broken furniture! What a joyful stress free move. I have sent more than one email to First United Moving and their idea of a solution was a $100.00 credit to our Credit card! Wow!! Amazing. No response to my email. Called and was told well we are busy and it’s only Monday! Waited a week and sent another email. Next day got the email that I go the $100 credit. Also, after repeated emails to the initial salesperson Matt Adika I wa s told he passed away when I asked why no response to my emails to him before the move. Not sure he or Scott who took the inventory and raised the price even exist since I can not get Scott to respond. We hired them based on reviews. They were available a lot to talk before you sign on... once you sign good luck getting any real satisfaction. They tell you one thing and that you only pay for the space you use, but it is a total lie. If the estimate say x number of cubic feet then there is no recourse or adjustment when you use less space. Expensive lesson Do yourself a favor. Do not I repeat Do Not Hire First United or Energy Solutions

They picked up on time and promised to deliver in 2 to 3 days. But when I called to check about delivery they are saying it will take up to 10 days and there is no way to expedite this delivery. They should have told me the same before pick up, so that I would have planned properly. I am recommending not to go with this movers for all your moves.

This company has misleading practices. My costs have been doubled since my initial estimate. I anticipated some increases for the final move once my load was updated, however, upon arrival, the company that picked up my items informed me that my items which were all accounted for were "larger" than normal furniture and increased my costs significantly onsite. This is an out of state move and customer service was closed. The truck did not have enough room to fit my items, so the workers had to leave their tools at my apartment home and return the following day. My items are not scheduled to arrive until this upcoming weekend and I still have no idea as to where they are being stored and why my transport has been delayed by a week. This has forced me to spend a substantial amount of money to make my apartment home livable for the week. I also have two pets which further contributes to my frustration. Although I have practiced patience in attempting to secure additional information, the customer service representative(s) have been curt and unreasonable. For example, a customer service agent hung up the phone as I was talking with her yesterday about requesting a copy of my original estimate. When I called a second time she ignored the call. I called again from an alternate number and she immediately picked up and provided me with the information I was inquiring about. I don't understand why this representative had an edge to her attitude when I called and spoke with her as calmly and respectfully as I could in order to obtain the information I needed to file a report. Not once did I raise my voice or use profanity. I kindly asked her if she could be kind and understanding as I have moved to an unfamiliar place and I am sleeping, working, and doing homework on my floor because it is too expensive to continue to stay in a pet-friendly hotel for an entire week in addition to the time I stayed in the hotel for my move down here. As of today, I have still not received a response from a manager regarding my concerns. I sent a subsequent e-mail this morning. I will encourage you to seek professional moving services with another company that values honesty, integrity, fair pricing, and delivers on their promise. I am an extremely patient, kind, and reasonable person. Please heed my warning.

Do not move with First United Moving! Do NOT trust Ryan Franklin. He will tell you whatever you want to hear to get you to sign the contract, and then screw you over in every possible way. Ryan told me, in writing, that if I paid extra, they would guarantee a delivery date of June 3rd. Come June 3rd, my stuff was still in a warehouse in California (I moved to NYC.) To make matters worse, once Ryan got my money, I never heard from him. The customer care women quit, and the others continued to tell me they couldn’t help. I was not informed that the insurance package was awful, and I only got back 6% of the value of my lost items – which I’m told are still sitting the warehouse in SF. Pick any other company and you’ll have a better experience.
