DO NOT TRUST. BAIT AND SWITCH. THEY WILL BLATANTLY LIE, MISLEAD YOU, TAKE YOUR MONEY, AND DOUBLE YOUR QUOTE. The representative, Claire, blatantly lied about the services and what was in the contract. She preyed on us as consumers. She told us that even if the inventory specified on our list went over the quoted space, there would be no additional charges. She said the only way they could charge extra was if we had items that were not on the list. I sent her an updated inventory list, and she confirmed by email that she had added it. She was extremely responsive until we signed the agreement. Then she completely ghosted us for days. We sent emails, texts, and made over 30 phone calls with no response. The day the movers showed up, we were told Claire had never added our updated inventory and that they were going to more than double our quote—from about $2,500 to over $5,500. Claire had also told us it would take four days to receive our stuff. On moving day, we were told it could take 14 days. The initial quote did not confirm which company would handle our move, so I asked Claire directly. She told me United Van Lines and then confirmed that in an email. A few days before our move, we were told it would be a different company. We asked for that company’s website, phone number, and email, and were told they do not provide that information. They also told us they would call three days before the move so we could update our inventory and/or confirm that everything was accurate. That did not happen until moving day, as soon as the movers showed up. A supervisor called me on moving day, and I told him about the inaccurate and inconsistent information Claire had given us. He apologized that she had been dishonest and said he would talk to her, but told me that it didn’t matter what she had said because “a contract is a contract.” I told him I did not feel comfortable moving forward with a company that had misled us and was now trying to charge us more than double the original quote. He said that if we canceled, they would keep our deposit, and if we did not pay, they would send it to collections and ruin our credit. We signed based on what their representative told us. The company acknowledged that she misled us, yet still tried to hold us to the contract and keep our deposit.
