Coastal Moving Services is a horrible company that is purposefully trying to scam their customers. Key things: 1. Additional hidden storage fees and delayed delivery of items: The movers informed the "office" will call me next day, measure exactly how much space I am using and inform me of the arrival time. None of this happened. On the day of pick up I have expressed that I am ready to receive the things ASAP, I asked for the delivery date to NYC, followed up on e-mails multiple times and nobody flagged to me that the first available delivery date was missing. I feel they did it on purpose trying to just extract more fees. They are the professional and they know their processes and terminology- I did not. I clearly expressed that I am ready to receive the things ASAP and they purposefully misled me. Now they are withholding my items. The purposefully are looking for ways to extract additional fees e.g., they hold things in storage despite me asking for delivery and then they charge fees. 2. Additional fee for stairs: Despite paying a fee for no elevator they asked for extra money for stairs even though at the moment of booking they knew there are 3 flights of stairs and they purposefully did not say anything 3. Significantly delayed pick-up arrival with limited communication: They do not communicate and arrived 6h late. he team was expected to arrive between 12-3 p.m. on Tuesday May 21. However, they have not arrived on time and only after me calling, we found out that there is a delay and they are expected in 30-40 min. However, they still have not arrived and I followed up again. They asked to come the next day. When I informed them that this is not possible, they came only at 8.30 p.m. This situation was highly unprofessional as 1) there should have been proactive communication 2) it caused me to have to arrange additional coverage from my friends. As it comes with no surprise, if I am moving out of a place, I have no space to stay and had to fly to NYC. My flight was arranged for the evening (I accounted for special time buffer just in case, but not sufficient to have movers come only at 8.30 p.m.!), but given how significantly late the team was, I had to ask friends for a favor. If I did not have friends, that would have caused significant cost implications for me as I relied on professional arrangement and expected the team to be on time. 4. Purposefully misleading on space used: They claim that you need more storage and they do not measure it just look at it and ballmark throw random numbers. The promised they will show proof of proper measure but never did. The movers tried to claim I have significantly more moving space than I originally booked. I feel misled again- the agent claimed I have equivalent of ~100 boxes. I had 21 boxes and 1 mattress and 2 art pieces. He claimed that I have plenty of space and I should consider taking some of the furniture or even use the uhaul box. However, the movers were artificially asserting some numbers e.g., "queen mattress is 100 cubic feet". When I googled it, it says 27 cubic feet. Quite the difference, no? When I asked them to prove to me the space/ measure it, he says "I should trust him it is more than 300 cubic feet". He said he can't measure it, nor can we go inside the truck to measure it. I felt I am being scamed- again they knew I have no other option and being pushed against the wall at this point. When I tried to discuss, they were like "we don't need to take anything, we will just leave it"- they knew that I have no other option at this point 5. Unprofessional behavior- there was some wine leftover on the counter and your team asked if they can have it and drink it. This raised significant concerns on my end if they are drinking during work hours. 6. Poor quality of moving- the movers were not behaving professionally and were throwing boxes. 7. Rude customer service: customer service is mean and unprofessional. They basically were shouting at me
