495 movers didn't exceptional job with my move. I really had a positive experience with them. Everything was very hassle-free. The movers that showed up for pickup worked very well together. Everyone I spoke to was more than professional. They did a great job with my delicate furniture and the back of the truck look like a little puzzled by the time they were finished. I had nothing but confidence at that point that my stuff would get to me in the same way that I left. Definitely worth the money that I spent with them. Moving is not cheap but it's better when you're moving with the company who truly cares.
Being a regional manager for Denny's I often relocate to new cities for quite a few months to open up new locations. Denny's always pays for my relocation and most times requests I get 2-3 quotes on moving my home. Moving in the past I have gotten in some bad situations with dishonest companies giving me one quote that sounds great, coming to my home, and tacking on a few grand by the time it's all said and done. People moving thousands of miles are put in a very vulnerable position and most times end up paying it due to lack of options. It's funny to see the bad moving companies use the tactics they do to sell thinking I have no idea what is going on. They don't ask about how many stairs I have, they don't check or even mention a 53 ft moving trailer being able to access my locations, they don't ask any of these important questions that can cause a hefty bill to the shipper. When I spoke with my moving coordination at 495, he was honest and upfront about it all. I had a few specific requests that he was kind enough to add onto my estimate so it was in writing for both of us to be obligated to. When the moving truck came 3 men in uniform came to my door and they were very hard working. I have a pretty big home and they got everything packed and loaded in under 12 hours. They were very respectful of my home and yard. I am a smoker myself so I really didn't mind, but one of the crew members who was also a smoker REFUSED to smoke on my property. He politely walked up and down the street until he was finished and threw his butts away in the outdoor trash can. That was something small but impressive that stood out to me. When they moved the piano they all teamed up on it to make sure it got loaded onto the truck the way it is supposed to. Moving a piano can get really tricky since they're so delicate and awkwardly shaped. After everything was on the truck they told me it will remain on the truck for a day and the long haul driver would be headed to my new house. On the day of delivery they hired local professional movers (since we weren't at home base they had to get a 3rd party crew) and the guys they selected were just delightful. They did not seem to mind unloading my home at all, they almost seemed like they enjoyed doing it. I can't imagine being happy about moving furniture all day but to each their own I guess! they were all very pleasant and again very respectful of my home. As the truck was getting more and more empty one of the guys started getting all the brown tape off of the blankets and folded them up for the driver since hes been driving such a long distance. By the time they were done they had all of my furniture back in place, and the truck looking brand spanking new. Overall I will always check with these guys to see if they are available for my next move where ever that may be. Understandably they can't have a truck right in my area all the time but honestly I would be willing to pay them extra out of my own pocket to send a truck to me where ever I am at. I look forward to more business in the future and I have let corporate know to ALWAYS check with these guys when relocating managers.
