Worst moving experience in my life. Similar scenario to Lyndsey C below. Understanding that I have moved 20 times in last 35 years in hospitality industry. Called and spoke with Brian Ballard, President of company. Took information, and provided him bill of laden from last move, so he knew quantity of items moving. He recommended we get an exclusive 26 foot truck, (me having no clue on size said fine.) Native sells off bid to subcontracted movers. Moving day truck shows up, halfway through loading, onsite folks tell me it ll won't fit, and what do I want to leave behind for another truck. WHAT? wtf, I don't want to leave anything behind. get on the phone with Native, excuses and explaining somehow this is my fault, and not price is going up for another truck. p*****, but ok lets get thru this. initially going to get a uhaul rental, but then told too late, have to schedule another day. So, now leaving that night, moving three states away, and have to schedule another move, one to four days from then, explaining to landlord, movers etc. Leave home with 2/3rds of our stuff. That truck shows up next day at new place. One item broken, was repaired. Then dance of second truck, second contracted mover shows up, issues with piano description, and never called back to confirm all items picked up. Then they tell me then have up to two business weeks to deliver my items, including piano and xmas decorations we need now. Find out from landlord they did not take items from garage that had instructions and pictures to pick up. they go back get that. Then send pictures of place to confirm, and they left washer and dryer, have to go back and get those. A week into them starting the second truck move, then finish loading. Another week before they are bringing items. Through this time almost daily calls to the inattentive Native team to get updates and try and push move. More expensive than full service major carriers, more headaches, will never make this mistake again! BEWARE!

Native Van Lines had to be one of the worst moving companies I have used to date. I paid roughly $19k to move from Minneapolis, MN, to Boston, MA. Only ~75% of my home goods arrived, and ~25% of the items that came were damaged, missing or (I suspect, stolen). Additionally, when they delivered my family's four bedroom/4 baths, they only had the driver and one mover. I had to help move in, which took a whole day physically. When I called to complain that they promised (and I paid for) four people to unload and unpack, they posted a craigslist ad paying people $20/hr (I asked one of them and he showed me the ad). How’s that for safety and security - unknown, unvetted, and completed untrained and uninsured random people entrusted to move my stuff. It has been over 90 days, and we have had no resolution. I am still missing essential documents, a security/lockbox that housed our guns, passports, etc. Also, Native Van lines is not an actual moving company. They are a referral company. When you contact Native Van Lines, they essentially subcontract the job to a moving company, so their prices completely lack transparency. Moving is stressful enough, and they have not made the transition easy. We have had to file police reports, purchase new household items and continue to discover missing items as we unpack. Lastly, they delivered several things that did not belong to us. When I asked them what we should do with these belongings, I was told to keep them or throw them away! I’m sure they said the same to the family with our items. P.S. their reimbursement is a joke. They will reimburse you based on weight. So even though they lost our $200 Apple TVs, we are only eligible to be refunded ~$5 (60 cents per pound of damaged/missing items).
