DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, unless you want to hand over everything you own to lying, fraudulent individuals with criminal histories. Our experience with City Line Movers was absolutely the worst business decision we ever made. City Line Movers Corp was deemed “Out-Of Service” by the Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) effective January 15, 2023 for safety violation(s) resulting from an audit in October 2022 (see attached photos), in which they had 60 days to submit a corrective action plan to USDOT, and either failed to submit a plan or their plan wasn’t accepted. City Line Movers’ Vice President, Daniel James Orr, whom we were told was one of the owners of the company, has a long criminal record (see attached photos). His record includes: felony charges for grand theft, pick pocketing, and passing counterfeit instruments; and misdemeanor charges for worthless checks with the intent to defraud. Additionally, he was charged for racketeering, possession of a controlled substance, sale of a controlled substance, and possession with intent to deliver drug paraphernalia. Another employee, Carrie Lynn Reiter, listed on the FMCSA paperwork as Manager, has felony charges on her record for methamphetamine and heroin drug possession (see attached photos). Lisa Marie, their customer service representative, is rude and a habitual liar. The best we can tell, she too has a criminal record, although we couldn’t verify with absolute certainty because we couldn’t confirm her last name is Bell. Contrary to what our salesman, Mason, told us repeatedly, we first learned 3 weeks into our experience that they are not a carrier, but a broker. They hired an “agent” to pick up our belongings only to find out later this “agent” does not have DOT credentials and we suspect he does not have his own GL insurance nor is he covered under the City Line Movers insurance policy. Their “agent” was a 25 year-old independent contractor operating a rental truck without any licensed credentials or proper insurance. The “agent” arrived to pick up our belongings 24 hours after the scheduled time. We were never made aware that they were sending an “agent”. Once our goods were loaded, we were advised they would be going directly to our destination. They did not go directly to our destination, rather, they stayed in the “agent’s” control/possession at a self-storage facility for nearly 3 weeks. City Line Movers no longer had control/possession of our belongings at this point. We only knew where our possessions were located because we had an Apple AirTag in a box with our belongings. James, the company’s dispatcher, lied to us several times that our belongings were on their way to our destination and stopped talking to us once we told him we had an AirTag that proved otherwise. Upon learning that we knew where our belongings were located, City Line Movers told us on 12 separate occasions over a period of two weeks that our items were leaving this storage facility the next day, but they never did. Upon trying to retrieve our belongings at the self-storage facility that was rented in the “agent’s” name, City Line Movers tried to charge us an extortion fee of $250 (see attached photos) before they would allow their “agent” to provide access to the storage unit to retrieve our possessions. This is a criminal organization operating as a moving company. We will be filing a formal complaint with FMCSA so they can investigate this company and hopefully put them out of business so they can’t take advantage of any future customers.
I found this company to be very unprofessional and underhanded. Not only will I never use this company again, I will discourage everyone I know to steer clear from these people. Right from the start, there were red flags. We were told many times we'd hear from someone and they didn't call. Many times we had appointments and no one showed up. We thought we were getting professionals but all we got were a pair of men that were doing a move as a side job. They even showed up in a rented Penske truck! We didn't know we were paying for that. What we expected was far less than what we received. There was a lot of damage and some of our things were destroyed. We also had missing items. A coin jug with cash and coins totally about $700 was not on the truck when we got to our new home. We were foolish to put our trust in this company. Between being stolen, broken and destroyed, we lost a lot of our belongings. Since we moved out of state, we had them hold our belongings for 30 days until we could make arrangements for storage. I'm sure that is when things went missing...they could pick through and see what they wanted to steal. File a claim? HA There's always a loop hole to get out of their deceit.
Ungodly liars, mason, Lisa Marie. I was quoted 1700 by mason who acted like he got me a damn deal when in reality he lied to me just to get me to pay the $500 deposit, lying to me by saying to hurry up Mrs. Legette because we have somebody else that want your spot, they got him using and lying to customers. So he sent me a contract to sign, where he promised me that this was the only price I had to pay. This is where it gets more disgusting. So when the drivers get here, it's a totally different story from what was said to me by mason and Lisa which both of them ain't s***.. oh! And these two are sooo charming just like Satan , all of them are nothing but deceivers just like the devil. So now instead of the $1700 they promised that I would pay, turned into $2300 So what did mason do for me that he thought was so great, NOTHING!!!!!!. BUT COMPLETELY LIED, and that lying a** LISA. Then when the movers get here this guy want to charge me for labor, and all kind of bogus charges, plus these idiots pull up in a Penske truck that they rent to do their job, so customers don't know this but some of those fees is so they can pay for their truck rental, this is a lying sorry a** company who can't even afford they own trucks with the company logo on it. BEWARE OF Those IDIOTS!! . They tell you one thing, and they do another. And if you decide to use them, you will be bamboozled on the other end when they deliver. They lie to people to get you to pay the deposit and when you do, they spring other charges on you. Because that's how they stay in business by f****** good hearted people. Now I'm understanding why they have non refundable deposits. Whoever use this company BEWARE OF LISA AND ESPECIALLY MASON THEY ARE TRAINED LIKE GOOD LITTLE DOGS TO S**** PEOPLE OVER, THEY ACT LIKE THEY CARE!!!!¡!!!. NOTTTTTTTTT!!!! REMEMBER!!!! WHAT YOU DO UNTO OTHERS SHALL SURELY BE DONE UNTO YOU 3 TIMES FOLD..... I HOPE YALL SLEEP
UPDATE: I would like to update my complaint made a week ago. I was very frustrated and assumed that is what happens when you move not the first time I heard this, but after company owner heard what happen he straighten everything out This is an upright copmany. The staff is beyond professional. Daniel Carrie, Geof with a G and Lisa Marie. I would definitely recommend this company. I wish I could remove my previous review but couldn't. I thought that was that. So refreshing to have a company that cares about their customers. My husband Anthony added the review and you can't send another under that name but we both agree that City Line Movers is the way to go. Very fair company.
