How terrible! It started off by them asking us how much stuff we had because they couldn't come to our house because of COVID (they had no problem coming to get our stuff though).
Obviously we underestimated so the cost was significantly more when they picked it up. We were then informed that they would take our items to a warehouse, store them and load onto another truck to deliver. They told us 2 weeks. Upon reading the contract that we did not see until the movers were there, it stated 21 business days from earliest move in date, which we then could not change from when we wanted our items.
three weeks later our stuff is expected to arrive and we then get tacked on a $750 fee from a third party mover who Vintage contracted and refused to tell us his business name, because the truck was too big to fit down the street.
when he finally did show up and we paid him off, many items were broken and/or missing. Vintage now claims they will reimburse us for the lost/damaged items at about 69 cents PER POUND??? so my $300 worth of clothing that was in a box weighing 20 pounds they will give me $14 for? They lost 3 entire boxes and broke about half of our items that were glass, even some that had bubble wrap on them.
To top it all off, they sub contractors who picked up our furniture took apart a few items and the other sub contractors who delivered it refused to put it back together.
Moving across the country is hard and most of us are not aware of all of the pitfalls. Vintage is definitely aware that their customers are inexperienced and take advantage of that. They didnt to anything illegal but they are slick and not helpful and dont give a care in the world about your stuff or satisfaction.
Avoid at all costs, get a local company, even if you have to pay more!
