My opinion: This is likely one of the worst moving companies i have worked with. You are only the top priority for them through the Sales process, but after that the moving experience was terrible. There was no communication during the move when I asked for a status. I was left in the dark. The delivery took the longest within the last 21st day of the allowable delivery window. While this is allowed contractually, it just makes the worst moving experience ever. No one wants to contract with a company that will deliver your items at the very last possible time and make your living existence a nightmare. When the deliver people came, they did a terrible job. For example, they left a treadmill fully packaged. They should have unpacked it and left it in a place that i desired. Then an item was lost. When filing for claims, they say they will contact you within 7 business days. I called and they said someone will call you back, they never did. Even though i have a 2nd coast to coast move, I will make sure i will never use this moving company again.

This was my move from one shoe box to another, meaning one tiny apartment from Ogden, UT to another tiny apartment in Santa Fe, NM. But I wasn't gonna give up on my favorite pieces of furniture. So I hired Western van lines who promised to get my huge couch in one piece out of my 6th floor apartment. And they did! I cannot figure out how they managed to do it though. They are nothing short of magicians. They deserve all the moving company awards, if there are any!

Moving companies have quite a reputation of giving you a quote and then adding 1/4th of that money later on to the final bill citing other expenses. I have been fooled this way before. So this time, when I was moving, I asked around to find out more about the leading moving companies. It turned out, Western van lines always gave you a reasonable quote after a consultation with you, and they still stuck to it. I got proof when I hired them. They were very thorough during the consultation and gave me a perfect quote. Let me add here, and I do have a lot of stuff! I was quite worried while receiving my final bill at the end of the move. I was delighted to see that it was the exact amount mentioned in my quote. Kudos to Western van lines!

My parents decided to move to Houston, TX, to live close to me as my wife, and I have just had a beautiful daughter. My father is a dedicated hoarder and he refused to leave all his collectibles back in Portland, OR. I contacted many movers, but most of them quoted ridiculously. Then I came across Western van lines that listened to me very attentively and quoted a price that seemed very reasonable. My father is now a happy chap being able to enjoy all his personal stuff carefully transported from Portland to his new house two blocks away from mine.
