We found Value Added Moving online after a Google search and a review of the company's reviews. We were particularly drawn to your website which states: "From the booking agent to the dispatch department, every step of the way you have a personal advocate, taking care of all of your needs," and "We negotiate on your behalf to secure the most competitive moving quotes available. No hidden fees, no surprises -- just honest pricing." Our booking agent was Jacob who, at the time, seemed knowledgeable. We did a FaceTime call with him to show him the entirety of the 5-bedroom home we were moving, shared our square footage, and even submitted a list of all of the items to be moved -- full transparency about the size of our home. Our quote came back at $6882.89. Jacob's own words were, "With us there won't be any surprises. The estimate may change by +/- $100-200, but it won't be thousands more." Fast forward to March 2026, when the moving team actually arrived to pack our home. As soon as the truck came down our driveway, I immediately knew there was going to be an issue. It was (3) workers driving one medium sized moving truck, clearly nowhere big enough to move our entire home. We did yet another walk-through with the onsite moving team, who quoted us $19K for the actual move, $12,000 more than our original quote from a company that boasts, "no hidden fees, no surprises." After much discussion with Value Added Moving over the phone, we were ultimately forced to accept the new terms since, given our tight deadline. We paid half of the $19K that day and agreed to pay the remaining amount upon delivery. Now, despite the fact that the moving company has had our delivery address for months, we were informed today (delivery day) that there is a weight limit on our city's streets and we'll have to pay an additional $3,000 to have our stuff unloaded from a semi and shuttled to our home in a smaller truck, bringing our total from an original $6882 to over $20,000. Do not use this dishonest company.

Throughout your review, you reference **Value Added Moving** as the company you booked with, and you also mention working with a booking agent named **Jacob**. We have no record of your move, we do not employ a booking agent by that name, and the events you describe did not involve our company. We certainly understand your frustration if you experienced these issues, but they were not related to our business. Because this review describes another company and not ours, we respectfully ask that you remove it and repost it to the correct business so future customers are not misled and the appropriate company has the opportunity to address your concerns. We wish you the best and hope your concerns are resolved with the company that actually handled your move.
These guys did such a great job helping me move to my new apartment. They were very efficient and careful with all of my things, and stopped on the way to help me pick up a couch too. I would recommend them to anyone and will definitely use them again in the future!

Everything was moved efficiently and carefully, with no damage, and they kept a great attitude despite all the stairs. The team was organized, respectful, and clearly experienced. If you need reliable movers—especially on short notice—these are the people to call. Would absolutely use them again!

I can’t recommend these movers enough. They came through for me last minute and handled a tough move from a 3rd-floor apartment to another 3rd-floor apartment without any complaints. They were punctual, professional, and worked incredibly hard the entire time.

Amazing! I contacted them and they pulled through for a last minute next day move at an affordable rate! They were fast, efficient, and careful with my stuff. It was a 3rd floor move and they kept good attitudes and had amazing energy from beginning to end! Literally no issues so I’ll definitely be using them in the future!
