I had hired Lone Star to move my apartment from South Beach to Brooklyn. The initial process was very stressful, deciding between bids. I spoke with Joseph & he made me feel comfortable with hiring them. On move day, the guys did a very good job. Delivery was a day late, but communication was constant so we moved past that. All said & done, i would recommend them & use them again.
These guys were really better than I expected. I had moved with the military atleast 10 times in the past and I knew exactly what to expect. Due to family issues i had to relocate back home to Texas. Unfortunately I had to pay everything out of pocket. Moving is expensive and it gets even more expensive when you have to pay for it yourself with no income. Luckily Lone Star's Elvin was able to get me a seriously great discount for being a military Vet. Aparently their owner was in the marines as well. Bottom line, I am happy and thankful.
Buyer beware! This company is as UNDEPENDABLE as they come. If you want a company that does NOT price gouge, calls you when the truck is on the way, delivers your boxes in a timely manner, and has friendly representatives to help you resolve any problems, this company is definitely NOT THE COMPANY TO USE. Our experience included an additional $2500 over the initial estimated cost, 14 days for my dads stuff to be delivered to a location 4 hours away (after being told it would be delivered in 2 days on a date they allowed me to pick), a truck too big to be able to deliver to the address we gave (even though they were notified of the limitations when we booked them) which resulted in an offer to 'fix' the problem for another $800, and unknowledgeable, uncaring, and unhelpful customer service representatives. In all of my years dealing with companies for ANY type of service, this is by far the WORST COMPANY I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. How any of the employees can sleep at night knowing how they treat their customers is a testament to how some companies operate solely for the all mighty dollar. If this company went out of business tomorrow, this world would be a much better place. My advice to anybody looking to use this company is to RUN AWAY AS FAR AND AS FAST AS POSSIBLE!
My move is done, and I want to thank these guys for making my transition into my new home as smooth as possible. It was nothing short of spectacular to have all of my things in my new place in less than a week considering the distance. The price I paid was also great. Job well done!
