We recently moved from NJ to CO; I did alot of research on many moving companies and Authority Moving Group, LLC seemed like the best option. The quote was in our budget, the gentleman I spoke with on the phone, Owen, assured me that we would have our belongings in 10-14 days; the quote was for $4610.96. We were literally moving a 2 bedroom apartment. I was on the phone with Owen, and went room by room listing all of our items. I even overestimated the amount of boxes and bins we would have to be safe. Then, for some reason, the quote went down to $4517.16. Even though I asked Owen why, he didn't answer. I also made it very clear that we had to be picked up on August 20th, as we were driving to CO and had hotel reservations. I have, in an email from him assuring me that he had August 20th confirmed as our pickup date, and that we should receive a call the day before confirming the time of pickup for the 20th. We booked them on July 23rd, 2020. I thought all was well. Boy, was I wrong. The nightmare was just beginning. On August 19th, a new person named Heather from Authority Moving Group called me to confirm and go over inventory, etc. We did, and lo and behold, Owen FORGOT a WHOLE bedroom set in our original quote. HOW DO YOU FORGET A WHOLE BEDROOM SET? Our quote went from $4517.16 to $5853.63, and I had to pay an additional deposit that day. She also said Owen did not put in there that we had to be picked up on the 20th. I explained to her that I had an email and we had hotel reservations and it was imperative to be picked up on the 20th. I was furious. I was so upset that I called and emailed the customer service manager, Michael Harris, to complain. He said to let the move happen and that he would give us a "resolution" once the move was complete. I said that would be fine. That evening, I received a call from the trucking company that Authority Moving Group, LLC subcontracted, VSNY Moving, who told me the drivers would be there on the 20th between 10-12. The morning of the 20th, we got up early, had everything ready to go, car packed, waiting for the movers to show. Nothing, 12PM came and went. My fiance called the trucking company and was told the person who called me made a MISTAKE and that we weren't being picked up until the 21st. I lost it. We had to be out of our apartment that evening and we had hotel reservations for that night and the following night. I once again contacted Michael Harris at Authority Moving Group who was very rude and condescending; saying they never said we would be picked up on the 20th, etc. Even when I told him the trucking company called the night before and then made a mistake, he was still rude.My fiance called VSNY moving back and they were able to get a truck there at 6PM. From there, the nightmare continued. The two men who came were shady and sketchy; first they told us that our price was going up another $1650, which we did not have the money for, and then they said that if we tried to tip them $40-$60 that they wouldn't "be happy". Needless to say I was very uncomfortable with that situation and ended up overtipping because I was scared and they had all of my belongings. Also, when they were filling out the new "estimate", they said the first available delivery date would be 9/6/20.We arrived in CO on 8/23, and called Authority Moving Group LLC pretty much every day and kept getting the run around. Lies, lies and more lies. The customer service manager refused to speak to me, so my fiance was calling regularly. Nobody could tell us where our stuff was, when it was coming, etc. Then this one woman, Alani, was so rude to my fiance and kept talking over him and saying they were well within their contract etc. I said where is your time frame. She said all the way down at the bottom, the very last paragraph, it states they have 30 days (mind you, business days which isn't specified) from the first available delivery date (which VSNY picked, not us) NOT THE 10-14 DAYS I WAS TOLD SO I WOULD BOOK THEM. They bait you and use predatory business practices. A resolution is needed!

If you are seeing this, good job on doing your due diligence on movers. I wish I had done more before making my decision. If you don't read anything else I write, please read this: DO NOT PAY AUTHORITY MOVING GROUP ANY MONEY OR GIVE THEM YOUR BELONGINGS. Why? I am not 100% sure this company is real and not just a scam. Here is our story… We were contacted by David Thomas. David was great. He was attentive, helpful and seemingly very knowledgeable. My only complaint with David is that he never mentioned that Authority Moving Group is a moving broker and not an actual moving company. I should have figured it out on my own but it would have been nice to be told straight up who I was dealing with. David got us a great price on our move and we booked it after about a day of thought. Once things were booked David disappeared sadly. I was then handed off to a Michael H who was basically the exact opposite of David. Rude, unhelpful and not at all attentive. I sent him emails and called him and never got a response. As we got closer to our move date (July 30th) I started to call to see if Authority had any info on our movers or when they would be arriving and they could not give me an answer. Also, actually getting a hold of them is incredibly difficult. Be prepared to wait on hold for a long time and then get sent to voicemail even if you call during business hours. Eventually I got through to someone named Jessica. Jessica seemed to hate me from day one. Every time she answered the phone it seemed like I was inconveniencing her big time. She would also tell me every single time that she would look into things for me and call me right back. I never once received a call back. The 30th came and went without us hearing from Authority or the movers. On the 31st at 6pm we called them and were then told by another rep named Jess that our move could not happen until the 1st or the 2nd of August. So we agreed to do the move 2 days later than we had agreed to months ago. Again, we had already paid a deposit and signed contracts at this point. On the 1st, we called and could not get a hold of them. On the 2nd we called and were told that the move was delayed again and could not be done until August 6th. Our lease in Philadelphia starts on August 7th. This was unacceptable so we kindly asked them to cancel the contract and refund our deposit. They said they process the request and call us back. Of course, they never did so I was forced to dispute the charge through my credit card to get my money back. Long story short: Authority Moving Group will probably give you the cheapest quote for your move. But, as all the other negative reviews state, your experience will be a nightmare. Either your belongings will disappear or your move will just never happen. If you still feel compelled to give them a shot I would STRONGLY encourage you to pay with credit cards so that you can get your money back when they disappoint you. I know there are a lot of glowing reviews for them out there but having worked for many web companies during my career I am now confident that these are fake and created by employees of the company. The negative reviews are the ones you want to focus on here. BE CAREFUL.

I only gave one star because I couldn’t put a zero. This company is a fraud! My aunt and uncle who are 80 and 86 hired this company to move them. They have been waiting 18 days for the delivery of their furniture. Our calls have gone unanswered and when we do finally speak with someone , we are told the furniture is on the truck. 2 days in 100 degree weather and furniture is still undelivered. We will contact a lawyer and the better business bureau. This has been a strain on an elderly couple who are now sleeping on an air mattress, and have to Purchase meals because they have no utensils to use to prepare meals. I think this must be a money laundering company.

This company was wonderful! Truly! They has some of the best customer service and communication that I have ever experienced with any kind of company. Scheduling was so easy and flexible when I needed it to be. The crew that moved us was top notch! They were a nice group of guys and did a beautiful job with our move. I have moved so many times and have never used a company so great! They really are the best movers out there. There’s no need to shop around any more. Five Stars for Kristopher Jacobs Authority Moving Group my whole experience with this company was fantastic!!!!
