THEY ARE THEIVES! After not showing up 3 days in a row, they have still not refunded my deposit. I have called repeatedly and emailed and can not get anyone to call me back.

Stay far far away from, this company!!!! My original quote with them to move from Nevada to Illinois was $2731 and I booked them 30 days in advance of my move.. That sounded reasonable considering a moving truck was approx $3000, so why not have someone load and drive my stuff for me. I was told i needed to have my stuff picked up 4/30 and delivered within 5-7 days so i could be unloaded into my new house before my job starts. Big mistake. I was told they would call me back 3-5 days before my move date to get a final inventory...I had to call them 2 days prior to figure out if they forgot about calling me or what was going on....was told I would get a call later on from the rep. Rep called and asked for my updated inventory....which i gave them ( had to buy extra storage totes to accomodate their "shipping restrictions"). I was providing dimensions on the larger items to make sure they were quoting correctly since much of their descriptions are "small/med/large." Now 48hrs prior to the move, I get an updated quote of $4914 (almost $2200 more than original quote). Reluctantly I decided to continue as I absolutely needed to be moved for my new job. I was then told 10-15 days delivery time, which is not what we were told when booking the original quote. After a bit of back and forth we finally got something setup to "hopefully get me on the next truck heading east" and have my stuff around the 10 day mark. The day of the move, their brokered moving company showed up to pickup my stuff. The foreman takes one walk through the house and says the quote is all wrong and we are looking at another $1200. I showed him the quote and he said this is not the first time this company undersestimated the cu/ft required. He was very nice and understood where I was coming from after explaining I could still rent a 26ft truck and drive it myself for $4100 (rates increased due to demand in Nevada). So going back to my original quote of $2731 to now being around $6100. Had i known that I would have gladly booked the $3000 moving truck a month ago and did it myself. I called and cancelled with Smart Move and told them it was very dishonest to keep raising the quote, then increase the time frame on me. I was told because I didn't cancel within 72hrs of booking, my deposit of $1993 was non-refundable. So for people like me that plan ahead for a move, I got screwed out of $1993 deposit because i didnt cancel right after booking them (reminder i booked them 30days prior to my move). They scammed me with their crappy quoting to secure the deal in advance. Then acted like none of it was their fault and it was all my fault. I really hope someone puts this company out of business...as it appears I should have done my research in advance...this happens to alot of people based on the comments here on BBB and their very unattractive rating of 1.67/5. Lesson learned to just do stuff myself and never trust a company like this. SHAME ON YOU GUYS!!!

Scammer alert!!! They will misquote you in the cubic sf ft amount.I told them the amount of boxes I had, the furniture, even took pictures, and told them I need a 26ft truck. They told me I’ll have the whole 26ft truck for the price and they quoted me for only 1/5 of the truck. amount to just get your first deposit. Then when they have the movers come they charge you 3x more!!! They are the absolute worst!!! Fraud by knowingly misquoting to make the price look attractive. Shame on them. This company should be shut down and kevin, Sara, Michael, and Chris Ocean should all be in jail for what their doing! Do not use them at all.

Stay away from this scammer, I called them to move from NY to TX and I made a deal with them they took $ 1720 as deposit , so what happened at the day they have to pickup my stuff I was waiting from morning till 6:00 pm till the driver arrived so he asked me to show him my stuff after he did he told me the space no enough for all stuff and he said the gonna charge me more if the load every thing , when I asked him how long will take to deliver my stuff he said 14 days but when i made a deal they told me only two days to deliver my stuff I tried to call QC mgr he is never answered then I tried to call customer service finally answered I explained to Sara from customer service what happened and asked her to get my refund because I will cancel everything she said they will never give me my refund so I’m right now working to sue them to get my money from them so again don’t hire this scammer by the way this is not moving company this is broker so when you hire them they will hire a company to pickup your stuff so any one hire this company will lose his money . So So So bad and this is Fraud be careful don’t give them your Bank account information because they will steal your money.

STAY VERY FAR FROM THIS COMPANY. We were set up to move on Dec 26/27 2020. They called us said our truck didn't pass sanitation so we need to reschedule you. Our house was closing on Dec 29 and we had to legally be out but they said they would come on Dec 29, 2020. I told Sara the customer service rep that Dec 29 was the absolute deadline and if they don't full fill it I want a refund. She swore up and down no problem we promise we will come. Dec 29, 2020 comes the driver Casey calls me and says I will be to your house at 4pm and then shows up at 5pm. Then he smiles a little and says Mam please come here I need to show you something (He opens the back of his truck and there is enough for not even a 1 bedroom apartment). I said you have to be kidding me!! He said my last job took more room and I know your contract/agreement says 649 cu ft. but I only have enough room on my truck maybe for 350 cu ft. He said who ever you gave your inventory list to way underestimated your quote and you have more like 850 cu ft to a 1000 cu ft. Casey went on to say If I were you I would not put even 350 cu ft on this truck because if you put your stuff on 2 different trucks it is easier to get lost in the shuffle. Karen his supervisor got on the phone and promised to send a truck from Vegas next day Dec 30, 2020. We end up moving our own things since we legally had to be out into a moving truck ourself. Hired and paid the men, paid for moving trucks. Then we were going to park it or go to Tucson. We asked Casey can you come to Tucson same price tomorrow Karen the Sup said no problem. Then we call them on Dec 30th and they say they can't get us in until after the New Years around Jan 2/3. We would already been to our new home at that point and its way too late. We ended up having to rent a moving truck and drive our self. The manager Chris Ocean is very rude and hangs up on you. When you call to demand a refund he talks over you, won't let you get a word in edge wise and then tells you to stop calling for the refund and you're not getting one and if you continue to call he will get you for harassments. My plan now is I will be submitting a civil lawsuit and I plan on fighting for every penny back. My $790 deposit and the $500 I paid for being honest to add a few inventory items I had forgot. I plan to sue them for my money back, expenses out of pocket for doing it myself, hiring movers and moving trucks and time and aggravation. I gave them a chance to make it right and give a refund back for all the mess they caused me on my move but they refuse. I will show all the bad google reviews to the judge and let the judge decide and I will be calling the Dept of Transportation. BBB is already filed. I mean business !! no one robs of me of my hard work money and you can't legally keep someone's money when you didn't provide a service. Service: Out-of-state move
