Kenway Moving was there when no one else was. We needed last minute moving service for a Saturday and we were calling around Friday afternoon. This ofcourse after another mover bailed. Fortunately Kenway Moving was able to swoop in and save the day. Very helpful men. Good overall price. Felt it was worth calling them.

We had Kenway Moving take what was a three bedroom from Rochester to Plymouth. The service was completed in less time than anticipated and the men had an overall very good attitude towards the work. The process started after we phoned into the office and Beth had an arranged for an in home estimate. At that time CJ came out and assisted with inventorying and looking over the pieces. Sure enough the day of the move we had received the service promised to us by Beth and CJ. Three helpful gentlemen who got the move done in less time than we had planned on. We anticipated an 8 hour day, they got it done in 6. All around very impressive considering there was an hour and a half drive in there with traffic. Thanks Guys!

My Mom had this company move her. She tried contacting the company and they never ever called her back. I am a college student come home on school break to a broke bed and mirror not attached and attachment broke and screws to bed in ziplock bag. Please do not use this company very unprofessionall and scam my mom. I feel bad for her cause she is a single mom.

HORENDUS, OVER PROMISE, UNDER DELIVER … Dishonest, False Advertisement, Misleading, Deceptive, Distorts the qualifications of their movers (completely inept), took twice as long as estimated and didn’t fulfill want was promised to get me to agree to hiring them. Then shove a particular spots highlighted on the contract in front of you and says needs signatures and initials before getting started. Already arriving late and smelling of marijuana. Should have been the clue, being in a pickle because I was counting on professional movers to move my heavier items, I didn’t get any friends to help. My family moved the air hockey table, 6 chairs and all the boxes like. Leaving the movers about 30 items and it still took 3hr 40 min for them just to get out of the 1st house. That day I called Mark at Kenway, informing him of my displeasure about the progress. He called Markeif (supervisor) and he call me. I informed him the same, not happy, employees smell like a reggae concert. We talked multiple time about the unskillfulness of the movers. They broke the leg off my dresser within 20 minutes of starting. This is the estimate House to House: 4 beds, 7 dressers, couch, 2 recliners, 2 tables/12 chairs, W/D, refrigerator, air hockey table Moving Date: Saturday, 8/26/23 Estimated Arrival Time: 9:00am - 11:00am You will get a call the day of your move when the movers are on their way. Please answer any unknown numbers the day of your move as it could be your moving team attempting to contact you. Pricing Details - 3 Professional Movers & 1 Truck: $159.00/per hour for 2 Movers (3 Hour Minimum)** $278.00 one-time travel fee** $159.00 one hour labor return trip Kenway Moving & Storage is fully Licensed and Insured! • Your team of professional movers will disassemble and reassemble items such as: headboards, bed frames, (excludes cribs) etc. • We only employ professional full-time specialists, no day laborers. • We begin billing hourly labor rate after the staff begin moving at your first location. We conclude billing the hourly labor rate at your final location when the last item is delivered and you are satisfied. • We do not bill additional for serving clients on Saturday or Sunday. (This Excludes Holidays) Then I called back to add 75 boxes that needed to be moved. Beth Miller resent the new estimate. Bring the new total to 5hr labor, totaling $1228.oo. Final cost $1908.50, a lot of money for inept workers; damaging 2 beds, 3 dressers, Washer & Dryer and Dryer pedestal and my new homes front door and wall going upstairs. Long story short, the pics tell a better story. The just left the house before everything was put reassembled or put in its proper place, while I was on the phone with Verizon. No attempt to get my attention just left. Talked with Markeif again, the conversation him informing me to file a complaint and insurance claim. Still dealing with CJ – (248) 836-8020. Avoid my current headache, you could get hirer high school and have less damage to you furniture and home. They won’t acknowledge the movers are incompetent and keep saying you signed the contract. Yes, with the expectations they employee professional movers as advertised and promised in the estimate and website. STAY AWAY!!

Please learn from me and do not use this company. This is nothing more than a scam and a bait and switch. Long version below but the short version is this: this is hands down the most unethical company I have ever had the misfortune of working with. They will say whatever it takes to get you under contract and then once they have your items on the truck they charge you THOUSANDS more than the quote and hold your items hostage if you question them at all. They quoted me $2,800 for a move and when all was said and done I had to pay $7,200 in order to get my stuff. Save yourself thousands of dollars and the frustration of being preyed upon and use literally any other moving company. Long Version: I hired this company to move from our house to about 150 miles away. Despite numerous calls reiterating that we had a larger house with a lot of items and requesting a walk through quote, I was told that “they were professionals and knew what they were doing” I was naive and trusted them, don’t make my mistake. I was given a start time of 9-11 am and was told we would have 3 movers. When the day of the move came, they showed up at 11 am with only two movers and began loading the truck. They did not inform me that the truck would not fit all my items until it was over halfway full and the whole day was gone. I was then told that it would require a second day and a second truck, essentially costing me an entire second move. After the first move was completed, I spoke with the company over the phone and expressed my disappointment that this move was now going to take multiple days and cost me excessively more than what was quoted, despite my numerous calls with the company where we discussed the number of items that needed to be moved. They admitted the completely blown quote was their mistake and apologized. They told me they would adjust the hourly rate on the second move to make this right and to trust them. I shouldn’t have, but I did. DO NOT MAKE MY MISTAKE. They waited until everything was loaded up on the truck to call me and tell me there was no rate adjustment and I had to pay them another $2,400 or they were going to keep all of my things. The cherry on top was the manager calling me to tell me they changed their mind and were not going to adjust the rate, never planned on doing so, and insulting me anytime I mentioned that this is not at all what was promised over the phone. This was hands down the worst experience I have ever had hiring any company for any service. My wife and I just moved to a new city and are completely screwed and after paying THOUSANDS more for a move than expected. Please learn from my experience and do not use this service. I promise you will regret it.
