The old bait and switch. They damaged some furniture.....actually they broke some of my furniture and they ignore my calls and won't make good on my claim even though I have proof! Classic bait and switch on the price. I guess I have to sue them to get them to make good on the damage they caused.....BEWARE AND MOVE WITH SOMEONE ELSE. THEY ARE SCAMMERS!!

Worst service ever!!! Three months of trying to recuperate my stuff and no response, they send me to CSI witch is a claiming company but Anthem are no longer responding to them, I don’t even know if this moving company is in business anymore because their numbers are no longer in service!! All customers that have been affected should get together and sue them!!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. My boyfriend and I were moving from PA to CA and looking for a reliable and honest company. We spoke with James and felt this "family owned company" would give us an honest price and experience. James specifically explained that Anthem was NOT a brokerage moving company, and that our items would only be in the care of their employees - never leaving their company's trucks or warehouse. I could not imagine our move going worse than it did. After booking our dates, we took inventory of our items and submitted them to our rep, James to get an accurate quote (I was very specific, took dimensions of all of our boxes, et cetera). We were quoted around $2,200 total. We chose a pick up date (mid June)- of which we were told that from this date it would take 14-21 days to deliver. When our items were picked up, the price suddenly increase to almost $5,000 based on the movers "eyeballing" the square footage we used. The movers again confirmed that it would take 14-21 days for our stuff to arrive. When they departed with our belongings, they left our property a mess. There was used tissues, drink cups, and tape scattered over my lawn and inside my house. They tracked muddy footprints all over the house as well. My boyfriend and I flew out to CA on the 29th of June - living extremely minimally in our apartment with basically just an air mattress and some clothing. I called a few times to get a better gauge of when our items would arrive. We were told that our truck would arrive on the 4th of July. They did not, and the office was closed so I called the morning of the 5th. We were then rudely told that the truck did not even leave New Jersey yet - and that it would be another two weeks minimum until they arrived. Side note - I just graduated college and was moving to CA to start my career. I started the 8th and since we were told multiple times by multiple representatives that our stuff would arrive by the 4th I only packed a few professional clothes to be safe. I was now starting work without my laptop, adequate work clothes, or related notes and paperwork. We then had to go out and buy many of the items that were two weeks late, as we could not live without lighting, pillows, clothing, pots & pans, et cetera.I called the customer service number to get a better grasp on what was going on and why we were given false information on multiple occasions. They couldn't have been less sympathetic and told us they couldn't really help. They told me to speak to the dispatch manager, Adam who I called on multiple occasions and left messages with no return call. I had also tried reaching out to James multiple times to discuss our issues and every time was told he was absent and would call me back that day. Finally, after almost three weeks of living in an empty apartment on an air mattress - our truck arrived late on a Sunday night. Little did we know, the delivery drivers were a different company who told us there were additional charges to what we already paid. The delivery man could not have been more kind and sympathized for our horrible experience with Anthem. He called yet another company to bring two more movers to unload everything. We watched as they carelessly unloaded, dropping boxes and items clearly marked fragile. I thought all of our troubles were over as we helped unload our items with the two extra movers who reeked of alcohol. Now keep in mind that my boyfriend and I didn't move that much stuff. We really only kept what we felt we needed and had minimal furniture (bed, 2 dressers and 2 new Lazy boy recliners). Though they were our two largest items, our $2,000 recliners mysteriously were lost along with a clear tote full of cords, electronics, battery packs, et cetera. I think the reasoning is clear as to why our most expensive items went "missing." There were also about 10 items that arrived shattered. We were instructed to file a claim with another third party company for our lost and broken items. After 3 months, we received an email offering us $120 for our lost items. After some deep digging we found many other negative reviews from people with similar experiences. We also found that Anthem employees are leaving false positive reviews as they all come from the same IP address on mymovingreviews.com. Lastly, BBB states that Anthem is indeed a brokerage company. If you have had a similar experience, I recommend contacting Better Business Bureau, local and federal moving associations, and the Chamber of Commerce in NJ where they are located.

0 stars. Anthem is NOT family owned, nor should they even be on this website as “verified.” According to the Better Business Bureau, they are a “rogue” moving company, and there are currently 15 open claims against them with the BBB, who is unable to track them down. They charged me twice for tolls in violation of the contract (asking for additional cash upon pick up), stole my deceased father’s toolbox and all the vintage tools, did no assembly of items upon delivery, and treated items with little to no care. Following up for any kind of compensation has been utterly insufferable for seven weeks. Last week I was told the managers were in Vegas. This week they have stopped answering calls altogether.
