We hired New York City Movers (DBA Vanity Movers) to move our 3 bed, 2 bath home and all my shop tools to Washington State. (January 28, 2023) I had just gotten out of the hospital after having surgery from having a heart attack and was not healthy enough to oversee the process. Once in Washington state I went to the storage unit where they placed all of our belongings (3 weeks later) and some of my tools didn't make the trip across country. I contacted the company and they did not respond. This company stole my tools! Beyond that, they offer 0.60 on the pound for item replacement. Read the fine print on your contract. It is my opinion that this is a thieving ring. Just a bunch of thieves, masquerading as a moving company. If you want your items pilfered by this gaggle of thieves then by all means hire them. I lost 2000.00 USD in tools and the weight replacement value is 60.00. This company is a scam. Not only that but they tried making me feel guilty during the load out for only giving the moving guys a $400.00 tip. I am not a happy customer at all. What made it to Washington was scratched, dented or broken, not everything, just my big tool cabinets, but many of my tools were stolen. Chop saw by Dewalt, hand tools, welding tools. etc. Beware, these guys are thieves!
