April 1, 2024 - Emeral Moving Logistics to move me from Manhattan, KS to O'Neill, NE. Emerald required a list of items to be moved. Among my itemized list was an estimated 100 boxes. The initial estimate given was $3894.93. Upon hiring Emerald, they required a $1100 deposit and asked for my bank routing number for that deposit. April 16, 2024 - They contacted me near my moving date to inquire about changes to my list. The only change I made was an additional estimated 50 boxes. As a result, they changed my estimate cost to $6678.72 and required an additional $1500 deposit. On the agreement statement, I would have to pay $2631 to the movers when they arrived. An Emerald Movers representative gave me payment options of cash, cashapp, or money order. I said I wanted to pay by credit card, which I was told would be "fine" and that the drivers would be notified that I wanted to pay by credit card. April 20 - Two movers arrived at 12pm from a different moving company called 365 Movers. After looking at my items, they told me I had 300 boxes and that I was now required to pay $3000. I didn't believe that there were that many, but they insisted that there were 300. I told them I wanted to pay by credit card, and they refused. I told them Emerald Movers informed me paying by credit card was "fine.” They said, "That's wrong. I don't know why they told you that." They insisted I drive to WalMart and purchase a $3000 money order, which I couldn't obtain. They requested I pay via CashApp instead. I couldn’t do that either. The driver said to write him a check and then call the bank on Monday. He would hang onto the check and then return it once the $3000 was sent Monday through CashApp. The movers complained we were adding " too many boxes." At 9:00 pm, they still hadn't taken all items to their truck again claiming we were "adding too many boxes." They also said that I was using too many square feet on the truck. Movers insisted I go to an ATM machine and withdrawal $500 cash immediately. Feeling coerced, I did. The movers finally started moving the bigger furniture around 10 pm. At 11:30 pm, most of our items were still not on the moving truck including a bookshelf, shelving, an ottoman, a TV stand, 2 nightstands, and a pantry. The driver finished after allowing us 6 more boxes. When finished, I was shown a single page agreement on his phone with a new delivery estimate of $5158.75. If I didn't sign that agreement, my items would not be delivered. And that was to be paid upon arrival. I signed one time on that one page. I requested a copy of this agreement and did not receive it until two days later. The agreement I received was 11 pages, including a Power of Attorney document. My signature was auto filled throughout the document. This document also listed 245 boxes. Since I still had items to move, I was forced to rent a UHaul truck and car dolly. April 24, Delivery drivers in a different moving truck labeled "Empire Movers" arrived at 8am with my belongings in Manhattan, arrived. They insisted I immediately pay $5158.75 before delivery. I refused as I insisted the number of boxes was not 300 per the statement. Also, not all the agreed items had been moved. I insisted on counting those boxes first before I pay. The driver called his boss, who said I can count the boxes, but drivers will not remove items from the truck until I paid. I questioned how I could count boxes if they're not removed from the truck. Refusing to pay, the driver drove off with my items. As local law enforcement in touch with the DOT were assisting me, the truck was pulled over due to invalid DOT numbers. Because of unmoved goods and the UHaul rental, the delivery cost was reduced to $4300. After two hours of negotiating, I felt my only option was to pay the $4300, so I did. The driver would only accept cash as a payment method, and nothing else. I requested a receipt which he agreed but nothing was sent. I then had him sign a written statement indicating that $4300 was paid and received, which he did sign. The drivers began delivering my items. Still, no receipt was delivered. After delivery, they wanted me to sign another agreement that items were delivered, and I paid $4300. I refused to sign. Their manager called me and demanded I sign stating if I didn’t, I could be “charged $4300 again" and that I "would not receive a receipt until I signed." I ended the call right there. The boxes numbered approximately 221 after counting.

We called Emerald Moving logistic after selling our house in CT and buying a house in UT. Keith arrived on time with a well trained, careful and respectful group of movers. They meticulously packed their trucks with our belongings. They met us in our new home four days later and moved us in with no issues to report. They were very imaginative on how to move some big pieces into some difficult locations. Overall, we were impressed with everyone we came in contact with Emerald moving logistics. We had a wonderful experience thank you guys for your services.

Having moved many times over the years emerald moving is one of the best! We have a big home that required two trucks with an overnight hold. Everything was wrapped and protected and not one item got damaged. They were professional kind and patient. The team worked collaboratively which you don’t always see. Thank you for all your hard work I was very pleased with the service.
