I had no problems with this company. Mark was very helpful and professional. My items were picked up and delivered on time as said dates were set. I would definitely use them again if I ever move again which I'm hoping I don't have to but if I do DVL will be my choice of movers.

Absolutely s***** lying g****** salesmen- MAX CARDWELL- DO NOT use this company!!! My husband was going to rent a 26ft UHaul to move our 2,400sq ft home belongings from MI to FL….$2,300 + gas (say $500) + 1night hotel ($150)= $2,950…. I told sleazy Max our plan, but wanted to compare a mover’s price…After Max-dog asked me for a list of items, I listed 90% of the stuff I knew for sure would come with us…then he put me on hold, and very convincing said someone opted out so he’s giving me a discount, and it would cost me only $2,980 (450cubic feet) if I agree then & there, not to loose this opportunity! He said he will be our coordinator, and said his direct line is in the email for anything we need…I was so happy that I said yes, obviously let’s do it! While on the phone, he sent the contract, we scanned over the terms and signed… Closer to move date, while reviewing the contract more closely, s***** salesman Max Cardwell FAILED to add my 25 bins, console table, 3 tvs, AND only wrote down our 5 mattresses NOT the entire bed frames (5)! When I called, there’s no Max to be found! WENDY at “customer service” was nasty with me saying I already signed the contract, and if I wanted to add those items (Max failed to list) I must reserve extra space on the truck and pay extra…Wendy was NOT letting me talk with Max….Next time I talked with CAMRON SMITH in quality assurance, fighting me on “I was not there when you talked with Max, so I told them to check the recording( they record every call for their benefit, just not for proof when THEY screw the customer). The best Camron could do is reserve another 400 cubic feet…for $700, and if I use it I’d pay $4 per cubic ft 😤😡 Per contract, the movers were supposed to come July 7, called me last hour to say they won’t be there until the next day, the 8th, and after a few frustrated exchanges she offers me a $50 inconvenience fee… 😤🤯🤬 They load it all up on the 8th (Benny was actually great, his Tetris packing saved us space, but low and behold, we take up 1,120 cubic feet, and our total bill is now $6,670!!!!! 😵🤯🤬 That is $3,700 MORE than s***** salesperson MAX Cardwell quoted us, just to make his sale. I despise that guy! That is $3,700 MORE than my husband renting a 26ft UHaul and loading/driving/unloading himself! NONE of the p***** of g****** I talked (Max, Wendy, Camron) to are to be reached a 2nd time, including dispatch mngr Daryl that I tried to reach 3 times-never got back to me! DO NOT USE DISCOUNT VAN LINES!!!! Their estimates s***, they promise you everything and deliver less than half, lying 🤥, never reach them again, and customer service S***!!!

Scam!! Do not use. Upon receiving the quote from DVL, they included the "oh hey look at this, we already have a truck moving from that area, so we can get you on this one at a 60% discount!!" But you have to pay $2400 up front right now otherwise the estimate is null and void. Sounded too good to be true, so I jumped on it. I told him we were selling & buying a house so we couldn't do the full $2,400 up front, but if we can do $1,000 now and the remainder in 3 weeks. He happily agreed and said he'd be in contact in 3 weeks to get the remaining payment. Yea, he didn't get in contact, he charged the $1,400 without me knowing. Jump to yesterday when I have some updates on my move, closing date, additional items, etc. Tried calling them 8 times between two days, not a single answer, not a single response to my voicemails. I had a random cell phone number that called me during the quote that I called, he answered and said that the sales department is closed on Fridays, but they will be open tomorrow, Saturday. Um ok. What company has ever been closed on Fridays but open on Saturdays? So, I tried sending an email to customer service to see if I can get a response, and they do respond!! By telling me to call the number I have been calling the last two days!! Told them I am calling that number with no response, they said they have reps there waiting for calls. Well apparently not my phone number. Please do not use this company!

They are scammers. Zachary Brown from Discount Van Lines called in April to offer a special price of $3.61/cu ft because they have another move that I can piggy back on. Frederick from Discount Van Lines dispatch called the Friday before the pick up on Monday to said I have to pay an additional $2500 if I want the movers to pick my things up on Monday and I would pay only the remaining $200+ when the movers arrive. He sent me a new estimate that is double the price of $3800 quoted in April after I gave him my credit card number. He yelled and pressured me to give him the credit card number if I want my things picked up. I almost passed out on the phone but gave in because we had to leave the house and needed the movers to come. The movers arrived on Tuesday (without informing and said I have to pay additional for wrapping and $2723.37 and another $1805.64 at drop off. They would not move unless I write them the check right then. They refused to measure the volume of goods and placed goods loosely in the truck so there is no way I could get a measurement. Zachary also insisted I paid $903 deposit via zelle instead of credit card, which is a form of payment in the receipt. Zachary said the additional volume would be an increment of $3.61/cuft but we were charged $10/cuft for the move. Zachary said there is another move we can piggy back on but the movers rented an Enterprise truck and drove down from LA to pick our things up a few hours south, not a piggyback. Zachary said the movers are from Discount Van Lines but the movers who showed up are from Flash Moving and Storage and said Discount Van Lines is a broker. Discount Van Lines take 50% of the moving expenses just referring the move to Flash Moving & Storage. Zachary said the movers will wear booties but they refused to and stepped all over the house when it is very rude to wear shoes in our home in our culture, especially when we have young children. I told them to leave the things in the garage and not to step on carpet with shoes on but they did not. They are supposed to arrive on Sunday or Monday but they did not show up until Tuesday. They called to say they will arrive 1-4pm on Tuesday but they did not arrive until 6:15pm when the building manager had to stay past working hours to let them in. Zachary said the furniture wrapping is included but the movers charged additional $200 because it is not included. The movers also gave a higher amount to pay at both pick up and drop off without explaining what the charges are for. Zachary also said the binding estimate fee is a fixed cost but that was doubled to be paid on the day of the move. They are scammers. Zachary and the owner Gregory Kitzen never answered nor returned calls throughout the move even though they said they would assist the move. Frederick yells and pressures me to pay, thinking back, that's how scammers would.
