Cardinal Van Lines

Company is a piece of work...they are not a moving company they are a broker company. They give you a cheap price because they severely under price you for the amount of items you have. They priced my 4 bedroom 2 story house at 885 cubic square feet. I am not a mover I do not know what that looks like I told them the 82 items that I had and that is what they "estimated" my load. When the actual moving company came (sky van line 10/10 would recommend) they let me know the bad news. The original cost that I was given was severely under estimated and the truck that they brought wouldn't even be big enough to move all of my furniture. So new price is close to 3x the price quoted went from about $6400 to over $17000. Needless to say I was very upset so I called the customer service number to which I was connected with the most unprofessional rude lady who then pretty much told me that I signed a contract and it wasn't there problem. Now this is putting it lightly from how she actually spoke to me, even the movers who was standing with me while on the phone was appalled at her behavior, and when asked to speak to a manager SHE HUNG UP ON ME. Also there was no way to cancel and get the 2k deposit back just because we refused service. Never in my life will I ever recommend this company. The moving company who did show up said this is very standard for broker companies like this because of the fact that they are just looking to make the sale and even if you cancel they still get your deposit.

I hired Cardinal Van Lines for my out-of-state move based on the good reviews on Google. Cardinal subcontracted my move to a moving company called Brooklyn Moving Company. First, Cardinal Van Lines deceived me when I signed up for the move and paid the 50% deposit. They told me they would pick up my items in CA and put them on a truck, they would weigh the items and charge me based on weight, and then they would deliver within 1 -21 business days. What they actually did was subcontract to Brooklyn Moving Company. Brooklyn picked up my belongings but did not weigh them. Brooklyn immediately tried to charge me extra money because they said my items exceeded the space reserved in their truck. Then, they told me they were taking my things to a warehouse in Fairfield, CA They will hold the items in the warehouse until my first available delivery date. They will deliver 1-21 business days after my first available delivery date. My first available date was May 27th. I started calling them two weeks later when I had heard nothing from them. Charisse told me they had not made the schedule and could not tell me when they were making the schedule. She said they had up to 30 days to deliver and I should not be concerned about it until their time has expired. It is now four weeks after my first available delivery date. I could not get Brooklyn Moving Company to respond to my calls so I called Cardinal Van Lines. Michelle told me my items were on a truck in Georgia and the truck had broken down. She did not know when the truck would be repaired or when my items would be delivered. The next day I finally reached Charisse at Brooklyn Moving Company who told me that my items were not on a truck that they were still in the warehouse. They still have not made the schedule. They have no trucks and cannot tell me when my items will be delivered. At this point, I do not know if I will ever receive my belongings. Cardinal Van Lines needs to be held responsible for delivering my belongings to me per my contract. I would caution anyone from hiring them because they subcontract to other moving companies and you do not know what you are getting.

They quoted 2200 (min of 280sqf that included a refig. I ended up not using a fridge and added an elyptical machine (slightly smaller. They outsource to a mover called stop and move. They came and said 470 sq ft without seeing my stuff. They would NOT measure (it was in a uhaul) and said that was it. I measured after they packed (HxWxD) and padded for extra. Total was 378 sqf. I offered to roung up to 400 but movers said no. I had to sign or they would unload. Added 785 extra (addtl 33%) They will take you when you have no other choice

SCAM/FRAUD Alert!!!! If I could give zero stars I would. This company will say what they have to in order to get your business but it is all a lie. They took a deposit and told me if I needed the additional stop it would be $150 to add it and to wait and see if I wanted to. I called to add it and they said that is another move completely I will have to pay for. Their customer service rep lied to get my business. In addition, the company that charged me is American Standard Moving LLC (go read their horrid reviews!). They basically sub-contracted my move to this other company and gave them my credit card info to be charged which I did not authorize and have no contractual obligations with that company. I've since reported the fraud/scam to my credit card company in hopes of getting my deposit back and then I will be finding someone else to do business with. Stay clear of these people. They are the worst kind of humans I have ever met. I do not normally write reviews but am writing this so others do not get scammed as well. To the others who had the same experience please report it! Let's get this company closed down permanently. In addition, the good reviews here seem to be fake! the people reviewing have only ever reviewed this company. Find it hard to believe so many people chose to review of all things this piece of garbage company... UPDATE! This is also a brokerage company they do not actual do your move! The customer service lady who I think is the owner and likely one of the only people who works for this company is rude and basically told me you should have read the contract better and she is right but I'll escalate this until I close this company down. She tried to get me to cancel my move so she could keep my deposit but I did not, she better contractually provide my services or she will be violating my contract with her. Unless she wants to give me my money back and then I will gladly run away and never look back!!!

This is definitely a scam I went to their website to get a quote. They called me later, ensured me they were a 5 star moving company and got me to make a deposit. At the time, they did have all 5 star reviews. Over the last 2 months, all of their reviews are negative. On my credit card statement, I was charged from "American Standard Moving" which has terrible reviews and hundreds of complaints on BBB. I will have to cancel my move and lose my deposit, but its better than losing the full 4k and also having them lose my stuff
