Unprofessional and Dishonest. They give you a low estimate to get the business. Once they get your deposit, communication stops. No returned calls or emails. When they arrive for moving day, the cost increases from $4000 to $8300! When I complained about the Extortion, they were rude and left me with 3 days on my lease and a house full of unmoved furnishings! Save yourself a headache and use a professional mover.

THEY HAVE FAKE REVIEWS This is an honest review from myself, a recent customer who moved from CA to NY in June 2022. PRICE: To start, they quoted me $4K initially and in the end it was almost $7K. Definitely not as bad as some of the other reviews on here, but we were only moving two bedrooms with no living room furniture. Like many other reviews on here, they started out nice and pickup was pleasant and on time. COMMUNICATION: Jim Karran is absolutely rude and condescending, but as soon as our items were picked up he stopped responding instantly. There was no more communication with him whatsoever even though he assured me he would handle our comms. Next, we were told on our sales call that the truck would arrive in NY in about 7-10 business days, despite the 21 business day limit. Not only did our truck not arrive on time, there was absolutely no communication as to when it would arrive. After ignoring all my calls, I had to resort to TEXTING Katie Cook who never gave me a clear answer as to when our truck had loaded, departed, or was nearing arrival (see screenshots). DELIVERY: Our pickup date was May 28th, and I woke up at 6:30AM on July 2nd, to the movers outside my door. They had only called me minutes before, to which I didn’t answer due to being asleep. These movers were also contractors, which Greg had told us initially that Cali Exodus did not use. DAMAGES: Once the movers came they shattered some of our plates, our TV, broke our standing desk, forgot 2 shoe racks, and even brought up multiple items that were not ours, to which I had to get them to bring them back down so that they could go to their respective homes. Cali Exodus also promised a full-service move with assembly, but these movers did not assemble or unpack. FAKE REVIEWS: During the 5-6 week period that we were sleeping on the floor, I was checking the reviews on Cali Exodus and noticed a pattern of about 10 “5-star” reviews that were posted all at the same time, right after negative ones would come out. This happened every week or so, and showed me that these were bots, and that Cali Exodus uses fake reviews. This is likely why they don’t have a Yelp page. OVERALL: This was our first cross-country move and we trusted Cali Exodus to get the job done. Not only did they put us through weeks of stress/anxiety, we also filed claims for these damages with no reply or proper communication so far. After this experience we can see that the trucking industry is shady and it’s best to hire local movers to pickup, rent a pod to drive to the next location, and hire local movers to deliver in the desired city.
