Your items will be lost, damaged, or stolen when it goes through their storage process and they will not offer any type of compensation. They should spend more effort in properly managing their warehouse and handling peoples goods in a professional manner, and less effort on posting fake positive reviews. They will likely post a flurry of fake positive reviews here after I shine a light on their unethical business practices for this site. Look up the number of complaints under their DOT# (3166700) on the FMCSA website (32 complaints for 2021). Their storage and handling of the inventory between delivery and drop-off is horribly disorganized and unprofessional. Broken and damaged items upon delivery, with many items missing entirely. Only 2/3rds of the inventory were delivered on time. The remaining third (except for the items that are completely missing) were not delivered until 41 business days after the first available delivery date, 10 business days beyond the 30 business-day window stated in their contract. For weeks they would not respond to my calls or emails when I was trying to reach them about my missing items. When I did reach them they aid that they did a warehouse sweep and could not find my items and tried to get me to go straight to filing a claim (which is a scam process, see below). When I contacted my broker, Proud American Van Lines, they were able to get Selective Van Lines to look again. Selective Van Lines then said that they found all of my missing items and that they would be delivered. Even after the late second delivery, 19 items were still missing. They lost %10 of my inventory entirely. I asked them to look again in their warehouse but they said they can't find my items, despite the fact they stated earlier that all of my missing items had been found. The inventory item sticker that was attached to my brand new toolkit was found placed on an old bedframe that didn't belong to my during the second delivery of my items. This is strong evidence that someone took the sticker off my toolkit and placed it on an old bedframe, aka theft. On the second delivery, they only sent one truck driver with no one else to help unload. Many of the items that had to be unloaded were large and heavy. I had to provide my labor in order to unload the items without having them damaged. Their claims service for handling lost and damaged items is fraudulent. The first claim was submitted through movingclaims.org, as per their emailed instructions on filing a claim for lost and damaged goods. After an extensive and non user-friendly process I submitted a completed claim, only to have Movingclaims.org state weeks later that they no longer provide claims service the for carrier. When I brought this up to Selective Vanlines over the phone with Daniel, I was told to go to the Selective Vanlines website and click on their link to file a claim through Csipros, a different claims service, and follow their instructions. I did that, only to get an email that stated Csipros "does not handle claims for that carrier". I have twice followed SVL’s instructions for filing a claim, and twice they have failed because their supposed claims services don’t actually provide service for SVL. It should also be noted that neither Movingclaims.org nor Csipros are not actual insurance companies. They were also more than 30 business days late in delivering more than 1/3 of my inventory. According to their contract, they are owe a fee for each day of late delivery beyond 30 business days of the first available delivery date. Rather than simply pay their late fee, Selective Vanlines required a non-disclosure agreement to be signed. $115.00 is the fee for the late delivery for 1/3 of my inventory as per the Bill of Lading contract. Nowhere in their NDA did it state this. The terms that I must "remove and/or refrain from writing on social media, BBB and all review websites" and that I must handover and never mention "confidential information" including "information related to the business or industry of the Disclosing Party, such as discoveries, processes, techniques, programs, knowledge bases, customer lists, potential customers, business partners, affiliated partners, leads, know how, or any other services related to the Disclosing Party" are absurd. An NDA with ridiculous terms should not be needed for this. This late fee that they owe is one of several, and the least costly, of issues resulting from their delivery. The other outstanding issues are the damaged, missing and stolen inventory. I’m not going to sign an NDA with such terms while those issues are still outstanding. This was a deliberate attempt to pay as little as possible and prevent me from seeking restitution for their terrible delivery service. I did not accept those terms, so I did not receive the late fee that they owe me. If you made it this far, you can see how stressful this company can make your life. Do not do business with them.
