L.A. is perhaps the most famous US city. Foreigners all around the world dream of moving there and experiencing all the glamour it has to offer. As an L.A. resident, you may or may not share that sentiment. However, you can’t deny that there are some areas L.A. absolutely shines in. That’s why leaving L.A. for another, vastly different city might be very sad and stressful for you. While on the other hand, it may also be something very exciting and refreshing. Baltimore is the polar opposite of L.A. Because of that, moving from Los Angeles to Baltimore could be a bit of a struggle. Here, at Verified Movers, we’ve helped tens of thousands of people relocate. And because of that, we understand just how much people struggle with cross-country moving. So today, we’re here to put your mind at ease and let you know all there is to know about Baltimore, and why living there isn’t so bad after all.

Getting excited is what will get you through it!

Before we dive into exploring Baltimore, first we have a piece of advice for you. Contrary to what people believe, moving is fun! And before you think we’ve gone a bit coocoo, we don’t mean all the packing and planning, but all the opportunities to create new experiences, meet new people, and grow as a person. Wherever you’re moving, there’s likely something to get excited about. Baltimore is no different. Even though Maryland might not seem as “shiny” as Cali, it’s a wonderful state with warm and welcoming people. And what do you know, maybe the moving process itself won’t be half bad if you choose one of the long distance moving companies Baltimore residents rave about. Moving doesn’t have to be bad! Embrace it and enjoy it!

Getting excited about your move can make cross-country moving a lot easier!

Many people move from Los Angeles to Baltimore because of the Baltimore’s community

With top movers in Los Angeles, you can get top moving services, but with Baltimore’s community, you can get top living experience! This may sound overly exaggerated or too bombastic of a statement, but it’s absolutely true. Even though L.A. is packed with people, due to its celebrity culture, people have grown apart in recent years. Long gone are the days when neighbors chatted by the fence and had weekly meals together. But you’ll be happy to know that Baltimore is still like that! The weather might be a bit gloomier, but the people are as bright as ever!

No, after relocating to Baltimore from Los Angeles, it’s wont “feel empty”

Even though the city of Baltimore has significantly fewer people than L.A., you still won’t be able to tell much of a difference. “How come?”, you may wonder. Even though Marylands biggest city, Baltimore is still 6 times smaller than Los Angeles! While its population is also roughly 6 times smaller than that of L.A. So while the city may feel a lot more compact, and the community a lot more tight-knit, you probably won’t be able to tell a difference when it comes to density. So don’t worry, Baltimore won’t feel “too empty”.

Expect significantly safer traffic

When moving from L.A. to Baltimore, if nothing else, you’ll have safer trips to and from work. L.A. is, unfortunately, notorious for its unsafe traffic and car crashes. There rarely comes a day that at least a tiny fender bender doesn’t happen in Los Angeles. Baltimore, on the other hand, is nothing like that. Even though roads are somewhat better in L.A., traffic as a whole is much safer in Baltimore. A pothole probably won’t cost you your life, while a 16-year-old driving her dad’s overpriced car without a license might. So if you’re big on traffic safety, you’ll love living in Baltimore!

Save a coin by relocating to Baltimore from L.A.

Los Angeles is many things and one of them is definitely expensive! Luckily, some long distance moving companies Los Angeles has to offer are rather affordable, so moving won’t have to be ridiculously expensive. However, living as a whole is absurdly expensive in Los Angeles. That, though, is not the case in Baltimore. That means that by moving to Baltimore from Los Angeles, you’ll be saving money! The cost of living in Baltimore is almost 22% lower than it is in L.A. Shocking right? It’s insane how vastly the costs of living differ within the same country. So even though you might be giving up a thing or two by leaving L.A., your pockets will thank you for it.

The weather in Baltimore is, actually, not that bad

If you like mild Californian summers, you’ll also love Baltimore summers. Temperatures during the summer don’t really differ that much. Both Los Angeles and Baltimore linger in the mid to high 80s. You’ll just have to remember to bring a folding umbrella with you after you move since Baltimore is rainier than L.A. But that’s where the similarities stop. Baltimore is a tad further up north which means its winters are colder and sharper. Expect the temperature to sometimes dip even below 27 degrees. Also, expect plenty of snow during the winter months. But that’s not all that bad, right? You’ll actually be able to enjoy all the joys Christmas and building a snowman brings. And that’s something you definitely can’t do in L.A.

Expect plenty of snowy Christmases and heaps of winter fun after moving from Los Angeles to Baltimore!

Los Angeles and Baltimore might be different, but that doesn’t mean they’re not equally as lovely!

Moving from Los Angeles to Baltimore is a big step. Especially for someone who has lived in L.A. for a while. However, change can be a good thing. Maryland is a lovely state with great people, amazing culture, and beautiful nature. So it’s safe to say that you’ve chosen well. That being said, moving is still a pretty huge life change no matter how excited you are. So make sure to plan your move well, do plenty of research, and find reliable movers. Other than that, enjoy this time. As we already said, this is your opportunity to start afresh.
