COVID has turned everything upside down. The way we live, the way we work… Nothing is the same anymore. Even moving during COVID has become a big issue and a stress inducer. Sure, quite a few things went back to relative normalcy compared to how it was in early 2020. However, with the rising numbers, things are getting heated again. People are stressed out and we are having to adapt once more. And of course, as movers, you want both yourselves and clients to be safe at all times. We know that because we feel the same way at Verified Movers. But finding the right balance can be hard. So here’s what you could and should do to ensure the highest safety possible for both parties during moving.

Moving during COVID might be scary, but it can be relatively safe

We understand how scary moving can be in such uncertain times. Luckily, when both movers and clients are responsible and take COVID measures seriously, getting sick can be easily avoided. Of course, it takes two to make this a reality. And while you can’t really control what your clients do or how they behave, you can do your best to stay within the prescribed measures. All short and long distance moving companies Elizabeth and other cities have to offer should stick to these guidelines, and you should definitely be one of them. But what measures and practices exactly should you adopt?

Its possible to stay safe even during COVID.

Online is the place to be right now

In 2021, most things are online anyway. Of course, you can’t really move your clients via the internet. At least for now. Who knows what the future holds. But for now, that part of moving has to be in person. However, there are quite a few things that can be done through the internet that reduce the amount of in-person contact. And you don’t have to just stick to the internet. The good ol’ phone will do the trick too. Of course, the mix of both is the best way to ensure you and your client are on the same page. So while you and most other local or interstate moving companies Utah and other states have to offer, likely prefer in-person consultation and evaluations, doing so remotely is the best way to go about it right now. So if you wish to stay safe, move as much of your work online as possible!

Protective gear all the way

We know protective gear can be uncomfortable. However, it’s absolutely necessary to ensure safety during COVID moving. It’s also best not to rely on each employee individually to provide protective gear and wear it, but make it company policy for the time being. And also make sure to provide said gear for each employee on duty. The very basic protective gear should include masks and gloves. These will help protect your employees from getting sick, as well as from infecting others. This gear should be mandatory for every employee that’s going to be in contact with other employees or clients.

It’s important to disinfect whenever possible during a COVID move

What distinguished serious and reliable state to state movers California residents love and recommend from the rest during the first COVID wave was their dedication to cleanliness and their adherence to COVID measures and guidelines. This made clients feel safe and cared for. But just like those companies, you too should make sure to do the same. One way to do so is to disinfect properly. Of course, washing is always a better option. But in absence of a sink and soap, a strong hand sanitizer will do. It’s advisable to equip all employees with hand sanitizers which they’ll be able to use regularly. Disinfecting so often will make it less likely for COVID to spread through your business premises. And you’ll also lower the likelihood of infecting your clients.

Moving during COVID can be risky and so its important to do your best to stay clean.

Keeping your distance is the way to go

We understand that the keep-your-distance rule can be hard to adhere to when moving. But even so, it’s important to at least try. Each employee should try to stay at least a few feet away from both colleagues and clients. And even though that won’t always be possible, especially when handling heavy furniture in pairs, it’s important to stay apart as often as possible. By now we know that the amount of virus ingested can also affect whether a person gets sick. So stay apart whenever you can.

That said, even though it can be hard to stay away from colleagues, keeping your distance from clients is much easier. Try to be out of your clients’ way at all times. Or even try talking to them beforehand to have them out of your way. Health always comes first and they should understand that.

Be clear with your clients about the COVID moving measures

Just like your team should stick to the COVID measures and guidelines, so should your clients. Sure, they might be paying for your services, but they are just as responsible for your health during the move as you are for theirs. That’s why you should talk to your clients during consultation about the measures in place. Keep in mind that you have the right to refuse clients who are not abiding by the current health rules and regulations. During COVID, health comes first and your clients should invest just as much effort as you to ensure everyone stays healthy.

Making sure your clients are on the same page about the measures is very important.

Moving during COVID requires extra effort!

You, alongside top movers in Dallas, and other expert movers all across the country, should be doing your part to ensure the business is running smoothly while everyone is staying safe. Of course, moving during COVID certainly has its challenges. However, with a bit of effort, research, and a lot of discipline, you’ll be able to keep yourself and your client healthy even during such a high-risk move. So do your part and COVID moving will be much safer for everyone!
