Your trust is our top concern, so businesses can't pay to alter or remove their reviews.

They showed up two hours late. We paid extra to have our property insured. After several pieces of furniture were damaged, we found out their insurance company does not exist. They drove my car instead of towing it because I had an extra 1,400 miles added. They were 36 hours late, and only one showed up to unload the truck instead of two, so I had to help him, so why am I paying you? Looking at their gas receipts on a map, they went way out of the way, my assumption is to go to casinos. They wouldn't answer their phone, after I left several phone messages, even when I used different phone numbers to call them.

The helpers were great, but the communication from their office was awful. Our helpers were scheduled to arrive at 9am. I received a call from their office stating that some of their employees were in a car accident the night before and that this messed up their scheduling. They said that they were still going to send our original helpers but they won’t be arriving until 10:30. This was frustrating, but understandable. At 11am I still have not heard from anyone and no one has called with an update. I called there office a couple times to only get a voicemail. I left a message with no call back from the office. I called Hire a Helper to see what we needed to do. They tried to call their office and couldn’t get anyone to answer either. Hire a Helper was in the process of finding me a different company to use when the helpers finally contacted me to tell me they would be there at Noon. The helpers were fantastic. It was hot and humid and they did a great job. It was frustrating to find out that they were called in on their day off to do my job. They had to drive a couple hours away to do it. Since the office knew they were coming from that far for them not to call with an update is not professional at all. I understand that things happen, but lack of communication only escalates things further especially when the entire day is scheduled around the helpers. A simple phone call with an update should have been made. Especially when I left a voicemail. They left the call back to the helpers to do, when the hellers being late was not their fault at all. My 2 star review is because the helpers were fantastic and I would highly recommend them. The office is horrible with communications the day of and don’t return phone calls. I would be hesitant of this as lack of communication when they know when the helpers will actually be arriving makes me question using them in the future. Oh and their office called within 30 seconds on me completing the job online to schedule the helpers for their next job, so they are obviously able to answer a call or callback but chose not to.

It is not very often that I post anything negative. But, given the multitude of damages and the lack of a professional response from Verlys Pro Moving Labor I feel compelled to warn all. Here’s the brief summary… Move scheduled over a month in advance for June 29th at 9am. Confirmed with them 1 week in advance. Truck, tools for furniture disassembly and shrink wrap were not provided, yet they said it would be. I had to scramble last minute to get a truck and we had to use our tools and labor to disassemble furniture. By the time we figured that out along with the mover’s arrival we did not start moving until 3 hours late at noon. The two movers they did send were nice guys, but by no stretch were they experienced “pro” movers. It was hot, they rushed and we have what you can see in the pictures. The employee said he was not scheduled to work and was called last minute, he then called his brother who did not work for Verlys to help him. Yet, when I called with concern she told me I had two of their most experienced movers. 1 year of experience for one and 1 day for the other. So that is your most experienced? To top that off, because they were not even supposed to work they had to leave by 6PM, guess when the appliances were put on the truck – yep we had to unload those ourselves. Several pieces of furniture damaged, holes in walls that were just painted and deep scratches in the hardwood floors. Conservative estimate: $5-6K worth of damage. Would John Verly the owner call to even discuss after several requests through his so called manager, no they would not. Instead, tried to play victim that I only paid the labor and not the remainder of their fee. In my opinion, Verlys Pro Moving Labor who operates under cash only with no agreement or contract has done so because it is NOT a legitimate moving service as portrayed. To further that, they are most likely fully aware that if they were to operate in a legitimate manner they would be opening themselves for being liable for situations like ours. Moral of the story – DO NOT use Verlys Pro Moving Labor.

The workers were early, they worked extraordinarily hard, they were very good at compacting the load snuggly, they were very pleasant to work with, and in all respects were truly professional. They were very courteous, and careful with my furniture, including a very heavy piano. The two of moved an incredible amount of heavy furniture. I would absolutely recommend them for any out of state move or local moves for that matter. Just truly amazing!!
