The challenge to writing this review is to include enough to save you from using these companies but not so much you wont read it. I truly could write a novel. New Leaf is a broker and does not have trucks. They are appealing because they aren’t as cheap as the other brokers but aren’t as expensive as the actual moving companies. We had quotes from all over the place. The important part for you to know is our highest quote was with allied Moving, it was a guaranteed quote that included packing and unpacking all for $12k. We went with NewLeaf at just under $8k. I was promised our quote was an over estimate and would not go up. The day the moving company arrived West Coast relocation Systems they tripled our quote to over 16k we had to negotiate down to 13k. We did not have this money. My ex wife was pretty much bullied into signing a new contract with west coast. That would be enough on its own to ward you off but there is so much more. When they say “first available date” for delivery that means “we wont even begin to look for a truck until that date. And from there they have 30 days. Ours took two months. During this two months we continued to try and get the price down with zero luck. New Leaf told us it was our fault while West Coast just kept saying we signed a contract. They aren’t wrong but still, keep in mind allied was 12k. add on the expenses of living two months out of a suit case sleeping on the floor and we had a real problem. When our delivery came it was one guy to unload five bedrooms worth of stuff at two houses. He did not reassemble, which was included in the contract. The whole thing was a disaster and I ended up having to help unload the truck. Our stuff at least what actually showed up was totally crushed and smelled like rat crap. In fact I found rat crap in my stuff. Now of course there is insurance…..literally they pay $0.60 cents per lb for a damaged item. And that’s IF e actually ever see that money. Do yourself a favor, get a real moving company with trucks or just get rid of all your stuff so you don’t need to pay West Coast to destroy it for you.

A horrible experience! New Leaf contracted a moving company that had no experience in moving, driving, parking or loading in New York City. The driver refused to do the job when he saw that he couldn't get a parking spot in front of my building. He left the city before I was notified and I could have found some nearby parking for him. New Leaf put me on hold and did not return to my call, they could not find another mover and left me to find someone else who could move my home within 2 days... during June, the busiest month of the year. I booked my move 2 months in advance to avoid much of the stress and New Leaf's incompetence in hiring a mover who had no experience in NYC made my move a nightmare. I recommend NOT using this company.

If I could leave negative stars, I would. I am still waiting for customer service to reach out to me or my filed complaint with the Better Business Bureau for our intended move on 6/12/2021. We went through New Leaf because of their good reviews online. We were doing a cross country move from Seattle to Houston, so we booked in advance on 3/22/2021. We were quoted around $4,200 and charged $1,600 on 4/1/2021 to hold our place and secure our dates. Everything went fine until the time of the actual move. We had radio silence the week before our move even after numerous calls to customer service and our specific representative, Jayj, whose number went straight to voicemail 100% of the time. “ HI JILL, MY NAME IS JAYJ WITH NEWLEAF MOVING, PLEASE CALL ME AT 561-200-3821 THIS IS REGARDING YOUR UPCOMING MOVE..THANK YOU, JAYJ”. That should have been one of the first big red flags. The day before our scheduled move a moving company (Cheetah Movers), called and said they would be arriving within the hour. We weren’t ready so we asked them to come on the scheduled day, they said no they can’t so they’ll come the following day. We had no other option so we said that was fine. On that Sunday, random men without uniforms showed up to our house with no moving van. A man sped through our complex in his car, got out, and immediately began to yell at us. He told us that New Leaf Moving Group is a scam, he (Cheetah Movers) gets none of the $1,682 deposit we paid so we owe him the full amount. We ended up having less to move than we originally estimated and yet he told us that our things added up to $10,000 worth without even looking at our boxes. He then tried to have us sign a separate contract with 70% cash paid upfront. When we asked about their moving truck he screamed at us that he would only go get it if we sign the contract, at that point we knew we got scammed. We asked him if we could call New Leaf and he threatened to leave us saying “you’ll be so screwed”. He then brought around a budget rental van, at that point we asked him to leave because he wouldn’t give us 10 minutes to try and call New Leaf. He screamed obscenities at us outside of our home, told us we owed the men he hired cash for showing up, and when we refused he continued to scream obscenities and threats. Then he sped through our condo complex while screaming out his window. I was unable to get ahold of New Leaf for 2 days. I finally had to call their new customer quote line, they sent me to customer service and said I would get a call back by the end of the business day. I told them we were unable to move our things and they girl on the phone kept saying that our quote was an estimate and if we had more things than we said we did then Cheetah Movers is allowed to charge us more. She didn’t listen at all to the fact that we had LESS than originally estimated and it was the quality of the moving company that they sent. On Better Business Bureau, Cheetah Movers has an F rating for charging far more than the original estimate AS WELL AS holding customers belongings hostage until they pay the exorbitant fees. I asked for a different mover to come for our things because we STILL HAD TO MOVE TO TEXAS. That was 6/15/2021 and today is 7/15/021. I have left numerous messages and now my phone calls ring once and are “disconnected”, even when I call the new customer line they hang up before I finish asking for customer service. I want my money back and I really caution ANYONE considering a moving broker. We learned a lot the hard way. PLEASE pay for a reputable company who shows up in their own company gear with their own company truck. REAL moving companies don’t charge you up front more than 5-10% deposits. I ended up going with Jordan River Moving who was extremely professional and didn’t charge me until our things were unloaded in Houston.

This is a 3rd party service and I would never recommend them after having suffered through moving some furniture to my son - PA to MD 225 miles. 1. They don't physically look at anything when it comes to quoting - I told them exactly what I was moving and they estimated 336 cubic feet. 2. The 3rd party company that moved me (Cobra Van Lines) showed up and stated that I was moving 680 cubic feet of stuff. 3. New Leaf quote was $1,900 - ended up having to pay $3,000 to move my stuff or refuse shipment and lose my $900 non-refundable deposit. DON'T USE THIS OR ANOTHER SERVICE LIKE IT Call around - you can make a better decision

I cannot express enough how much I regret going with this company. If you are okay with not being contacted with updates, calling in every day trying to reach a customer service reps, and not knowing where your items are for a week, then this is the business for you. This experience has felt shady over all from the lack of communication between everyone. I called every day from April 2nd to April 9th (pickup was April 2nd) trying to find out where my items are and I kept getting the response of “the drivers might be on break so we don’t know when they will arrive”, “they might arrive at our facility by Wednesday or Thursday but we’re not sure”, or “we will call to let you know when the drivers finally arrive here to then move your items to you” but this company never calls you back with updates. I finally received an update on where the items are on April 9th after I called in a couple times and apparently they were already on their way to me but now the agreed amount to pay has increased by $1,000. I was transferred to Falcon Moving (the moving company NewLeaf chose) and spoke with Jessica (the manager) about this increase. She continued to tell me that I signed for this increase and I already allowed it. I told her many times I never signed any paperwork for this type of increase and I wouldn’t have as I don’t have an extra $1,000 laying around. She continued to yell (literally yelling at me over the phone) that I need to “take responsibility” for this issue and will need to pay the extra cost. She told me it was my fault that I approved the move and should have called in sooner to talk about this. I told her I called on Monday and Wednesday of that week and shared the responses I received from her employees. She did not have any comments for me other than she needs to get my paper work from the drivers so she can charge me for the move and then will call me back. She said that exact line to me on April 2nd (one week ago) when I called her to pay for the move. I called NewLeaf about this but of course could not reach any of their managers (couldn’t get any to call me back for the past couple of days). Nicole (one of NewLeaf managers) did email me later in the evening saying she is asking for the paperwork from Falcon Moving and then will send me the invoice. Never addressing my issue of the increased charge. Now I am left wondering when my items will arrive, if they do, and who is going to pickup this extra charge I was never aware of until a week after the move. If you enjoy your sanity, stay away from this company.
