We all love to eat. Eating good food is one of the simpler pleasures in life, but it can be extremely important. Every city has its own “brand” of cuisine, and no two places are alike. If you have just gone through relocation to Dallas, possibly with one of the top long distance moving companies Dallas has to offer, you owe it to yourself to try some of the city’s best food. In this article, we will be detailing some of the best food joints to visit after your move to Dallas. There will be something for everyone, so sit back and enjoy!

Top 7 food joints to visit after your move to Dallas

Without any further ado, here are the top picks:

  • Ellie’s
  • Tejas
  • Mariano’s Hacienda
  • Parigi
  • Red Stix Asian Street Food
  • Bistro B
  • Grapevine Bar

There are numerous other food joints in the city but we feel that these represent some of the best that Dallas has to offer. You can ask some of the top movers in Dallas for even more recommendations, as they are sure to point you in the right direction. We’ve tried to include a variety of different options, there should be something for everyone in one of these places! Starting with:

Ellie’s

In the Dallas Arts District, there is a cozy place called “Ellie’s”. It is one of the best fine-dining places in the city, mixed with a healthy dose of authentic Mexican comfort. The base of its offer includes a traditional crispy tostada, as well as extremely tender sope. You can also get phenomenal duck chunks, goat cheese crema, asadero cheese, and pickled red pearl onion petals.

The place is extremely popular, however, and you might need to make a reservation if you want to guarantee a table. Ideally, you will make the reservation before moving from NYC to Dallas, for example, to ensure that you can enjoy Ellie’s culinary delights. It is definitely a place that you do not want to miss!

One of the best places to visit after your move to Dallas – Tejas

Located in the Bishop Arts District, Tejas has a punchy tagline. “Tex-Mex done sexy!” is what you can expect. As you might expect, this is another place that offers amazing Mexican dishes. But the main reason why we are recommending this particular joint is one particular dish.

The shredded chicken-stuffed corn tortillas that Tejas makes are so good and unique, that you will be coming for more. They are made to order, meaning that there will be no doubt about the freshness of the ingredients. It is also the perfect “Instagram meal” as the plate is gorgeous to behold. You will almost not want to ruin the piece of art that is this exquisite dish. Almost.

Mariano’s Hacienda

East Dallas has a number of amazing food joints but Mariano’s Hacienda is one of the best. Perhaps they weren’t the first to invent the frozen margarita (there’s some dispute about this), but they sure make one of the best ones in the city! There are numerous varieties that you can try, but it is always best to start with the original frozen recipe, perhaps with a swirl of sangria after it.

You will not need to make a reservation here, as the Hacienda functions on a “first come-first serve” basis.

Parigi

Moving on with the sweet delights, Parigi makes one mean chocolate glob. This joint, located in Oak Lawn, is famous for its brownies that have that nostalgic taste and texture. The place opened its doors in 1984 and has been a runaway hit ever since.

While the chocolate glob started out as an accident, now it is common practice to purposefully undercook this amazing treat, with warm chocolate spewing out in every direction. This place gets Verified Movers seal of approval. And the best thing about Parigi is that you can request these brownies to be cold and heat them up at home for an experience worthy of any restaurant!

Same as Mariano’s, it is first come-first served at Parigi, with the exception that you can contact them to order take-out, as well.

Red Stix Asian Street Food

Moving to something else, the Red Stix Asian Street Food, located in Park Cities, offers another take on spicy food. Their noodles have a cult-like following, proving that you might want to take the Scoville scale a bit more seriously. But if you are not a fan of extremely spicy dishes, you might want to start with the traditional Dan Dan noodle and its medium heat level.

But even then, you are going to be in for a surprise. The chef makes it extremely spicy, and you might be screaming “Damn, Damn” in no time.

Bistro B

But if you are more into smorgasbords, there is no better place to indulge than the Bistro B on Grand Prairie. The variety, affordability, quality, and speed of service all come together to create one amazing Vietnamese restaurant. The place is absolutely bustling, and you might need to even join an online waitlist to get in. There are no reservations at Bistro B, it is first come-first served, just like the two previous entrants.

The menu is absolutely massive, including options such as pho, numerous noodle, and rice dishes, as well as banh mi and many other traditional favorites. To be perfectly honest, it is highly likely that you have never ever seen some of these dishes. And that makes Bistro B worth checking out, at the very least.

Grapevine Bar is one of the top spots to frequent after your move to Dallas

The last, but not the least, on our list is the Grapevine Bar. Another amazing food joint in Oak Lawn, Grapevine Bar offers an amazing Tangarita. This dish comes from the tang, the juice-Esque breakfast drink that was enjoyed by astronauts ever since the 1960s. It blends childhood nostalgia with a certain twist. A lot of “booze”. It is a unique blend, something that will help you go through the rest of the day much easier.

And, similar to other amazing food joints, it is first come-first served. It is one of the places you really don’t want to miss after your move to Dallas. You might even want to make it your priority to get the Tangarita. You will not regret it!
